But I can't find the bit about getting the free games.

None of the "Welcome Back" package is up yet. Other forums suggested there would be another update Friday to add the content.

Yes, that is correct. The free game offer is not available yet.

I DID finally manage to DL all that DA II content from purchasing the LE. Now I can finally play the game with all the bells and whistles I went out of my way to pay for.

I will tell you what. Fuck EA for forcing me to jump through three billion hoops to get the content. All they should have required of me was to link my PSN account to the Bioware or EA page and put in my PSN code to get the content. Instead, I have to go to their site, log in, register the game, jump through flaming hoops and outrun a hurricane on a plane with John Cusack to get the lewtz. And I see that there are other things you can get by playing the demo. Really?

So when I get home tonight, guess I'm DLing the demo to get the pimp claymore. Maybe it'll be different from the main game, like a 'prologue' that won't bore me to tears or something.

Messed around with it last night.

It seems Faster/Snappier to me.

The Game Store worked fine, I downloaded the motorstorm apocalypse demo.

I didn't see any updated graphics. (Ie June this... that... mostly still old stuff)

And the video store was very spotty and kept giving me errors.

Glad to have it back, now give us our welcome back packages!

Oh man... I can imagine what a shitload of Bandwidth thats going to take...

quite a respectable update too, I didn't even know a new sega rally game was coming out! awesome. And finally we get some of the PC engine ports that have been up in the japan store for like years now lol.

I imagine when the free games go online, they're going to be pummeled with downloads. It would probably cost them less to just bulk mail games out to people (please allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery). People would likely be happier with discs too. Oh well. I still don't know what I'm even going to download for free. The game selection was pretty weak. Not that I really feel I'm entitled to anything. Other than the hassle of having to cancel my card, and my inbox being bombarded with spam, they really didn't cost me anything. Still, the gesture would have been nicer with a few newer titles (Mod Nation Racers for PS3, for instance, would have made me a lot happier than inFAMOUS and Little Big Planet 1).

GOD. DAMMIT. Everytime I hear that the store is back up or something, the fucking server goes down for maintenance. It's down right now.

Been trying to change my password for like a month.

If I hear that the server is up one more time and I try it and it gives me the maintenance message... I'm calling customer service and having them cancel my account.

It's annoying as hell.

Downloaded some demos today from PSN.

Definitely seems a lot faster to me.

Gonna try out Wizardry and Might and Magic. May they not disappoint me.

So um....it says we can download our stuff but I keep getting this 80711008 error every time I attempt to download game 1.

Think my little brother has been having the same problem too.

Yeah, PSN is bullshit. It's not working at all for me either.

Happened to me too, and then the free game offer disapeared without giving me my games.

Now the whole store is down. :(

I imagine it's because everyone is trying to get on at once.

Q: I no longer have the option to choose my free Welcome Back games. What can I do?

A: If you navigate away from the Welcome Back section of the store without choosing your free games or exit the store completely you may need to follow the below in order to choose and download your free games.

On your PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Portable navigate to the PlayStation Network icon on the XMB
Log into your PlayStation Network account and choose Account Management > Transaction Management > Services List
Choose “PlayStation Network Promotions” from the list of services displayed
Select either “PS3 Free Games” or “PSP Free Games” and then choose “Select Content”

You will be taken to the store to choose your remaining free games.

managed to sneak in and download dead nation but yeah I don't think I will mess with it anymore for a bit, too tedious with the errors.

I downloaded the Wizardry demo yesterday and it was faster than I remember PSN Store downloads being in the past. Maybe we'll get a faster infrastructure out of all this mess.

Also, I'm using prepaid cards from now on. Not giving Sony my credit card details ever again.
