I thought this week's episode was better than last week, but not great. It had some good moments --I felt they could've had even more fun with the royal wedding parody.

It was nice to see Ugly Bob and Scott back in action --though I wish they didn't make Ike the central character.

The Eskimo stuff was pretty amusing --especially Scott's slang for them: Snow Monkeys, etc.

I was loading last weeks but checked this thread and thought better of it. Ill watch it at some point, but Ive never seen an episode get so much hate from the ng.com crowd before.

Last week's was universally bad. It was just too distracted with an uninteresting, personal message to be funny.

EDIT: [Snow Monkey clip]

Good episode, I didn't mind Ike being the lead and thought it was great he was. The commentary during the wedding was great

Well this episode was funny enough...Mr. Mackey losing his shit over his dad dying from tooth decay was good for a snicker.
And god knows I love it when someone takes the piss out of Canada for their pitiful love affair with the royal family.

Admittedly, I didn't think the funnybot episode was too bad either.
It was clever enough to use german work ethic and ingenuity as a comedic device, and everybody's willingness to rationalize and reconcile with a murdering robot instead of Tyler Perry was cute too. A little predictable but whatever.

I don't think anything will ever make me laugh as hard as the ghost of human kindness, or Mr. Garrisons gyroscopic dildocycle that spitroasts the pilot. Every sodomy take they did had me crying...especially when John Travolta got on one.

Oh well...its still pretty early in the season.

I was happy with the latest episode, "T.M.I." I liked it more than the last few eps.

The whole opening scenario, with the mistaken chart, was definitely the strongest part of the whole episode --it was going to be hard to top it and they really weren't able to. Still, the rest of the episode was watchable once Randy got involved.

Also, kudos on including Arnold's out-of-wedlock kid only a day after it was announced.

I freeze framed the original grown chart, posted by the faculty, and noticed that one of the kids was named "Leroy Jenkins".

Last night's episode was the best of the new season thus far.

Which shouldn't be all that surprising, Randy-centric episodes are usually some of the best.

I think we can stop bumping this thread weekly now, if all we're going to be doing is trying to point out the one or two possibly funny moments in what can only be described as South Park's long and painful circle around the drain.

Better solution: maybe you should ignore the thread since you're too hip for it.

You could always do something else instead of read this thread.

Perhaps check out www.eatabowlofdick.com for ideas.

Man, I don't think you guys get it. I'm a huge South Park fan. I've recently (as in within the last few months) sat and rewatched all the old seasons on NetFlix streaming. I watch the syndicated reruns all the time as well on the local channels and I love the edits they do... They're still awesome. Some are so good it hurts... but what really hurts is seeing how the last few seasons have turned to complete shit. I mean, it's like they're not even from the same people at all. I almost wonder if they're not just fucking with us to see how bad they can make the show before people start complaining. Really... I wouldn't put it past them for one second to do that, either. Every week, though, I watch it... and just cry a little inside.

ditto

i still watch it, though. i guess because i've been watching it since fourth fucking grade. hard to break a habit.

edit: just watched TMI on southparkstudios.com. What's odd is that I was looking for shirts with Keep Calm and Carry On last night, for no reason really.

Surprised no one's added it on wikipedia yet. And disappointed in Bob.

"Vunder Slash" and the legend of the Dutch character (we should ask ratson about it) set-up a surprisingly committed argument against NCAA practices towards college athletes. Though I disagree with paying student athletes, while also waving my fist at the stupidity of the NCAA, I thought the CBAA was an amusing angle. This wasn't an episode that went for big jokes and an inaccurate representation of poutine, it was more calmly paces stroll through the Boiler Room and EA Sports.

Slash is in all of us.

Here's the Vunder Slash song:

Vunder Slash is based on Sinterklaas, which is basically our equivalent of Santaclaus. He lives in Spain, owns a steamboat and has black slaves.

The song they did is based on this

The whole Slash thing was funny but made me wonder...are there really 'Slash' appearances without the real Slash? Has he sold out his image?

Tonight's was the best one in years.

The concept of portraying music was great, but the final few minutes of the show --once Randy and Sharon started arguing, seemed to be what Trey and Matt think of the show now (they purposely set up the shot so Randy would start staring at the audience during key lines). They barely hid that fact (clearly intentionally). They let that set-up a very different ending for an episode. Not even a To Be Continued or anything.

Of course, this is the end of the first half-season and they'll be back in the Fall --we'll see if they still feel the same way. They haven't agreed to do anymore seasons so this might have been the signal that the next six episodes to finish of season 15 are the end of the series.

They definitely set up a topic of conversation for the break between the season halves.

Honestly, I think this would be a good time to wrap it up.

And if they're planning it, I wonder how their going to plan the final six episodes... There seems to be a lot of promise there.

I definitely felt like last week's City Sushi episode was a bit of a stretch when how they tied it together at the end, especially if they planned to keep that character going --maybe that was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Damn. Episode was great, but very depressing as well.
I don't blame them if they were to end it at the end of this season. :(
