Very nice job.
Have you done art with any other characters?

Very nice. Did you purchase the enclosure or make it yourself?

It didn't take long at all. I bought the enclosure at a local craft store. I have no visual artistic talent, so I got my mother who has been painting for years to do it. She was quite happy to do something different for a change. In terms of the time it took me personally, it was just drilling the holes in the enclosure and hacking the pad. I made another stick with a KoF 13 theme but it's not painted, it just has an attached graphic. I'm just happy my first attempt at soldering something turned out so well.

Very cool, especially for a character that doesn't get much love. I like the placement of the central Tung--I don't know if it was intentional or not, but it looks like he's actually reaching for the joystick.

The art is phenomenal, the color scheme for the hardware could complemet Master Tung better, I think the case is beautiful enough that is worth trying a different color. Just my two cents, the stick still looks great though.

Great stuff man! Very awesome stick and art. I happen to enjoy playing Tung very much, especially in KOF XI and NGBC.

Yeah, Tung is wicked cool in NGBC and fun to play. That's why I modeled the stick after him using NGBC art.

Yeah, when I ordered them I thought the stick and buttons were dark purple so they'd match Tung's outfit. They are far too light in color to match unfortunately. I would like to have a dark purple color for the stick and buttons. Do you have any suggestions on a stick and button color scheme?

By the looks of it you could get away with using Sanwa Dark Blue, they call it dark blue but is more like a violet color rather than the magenta color their "violet" buttons are known for. I wish I had a pic to show you, but head over to Chad's website LizardLick.com and in there you'll see the pics of dark blue and violet next to each other and you'll see the difference.

If you don't mind going Seimitsu, you could always go with some skeleton buttons, clear or colored would be pretty cool, but there's a ton of colors there you could find something you like better.

Sometimes white does it pretty good too, it makes the art pop more 'cause the hardware would blend with the case better. Also, there's a way to make accents out of colors, pick a color that's unique on the art but that's not everywhere, like his belt/toga for example, I'm not looking at the art right now but I think it was yellow? Well it could look really cool, just play around with your pics and use a photo editing software so you can see what you like best.

Hope that helps, best of luck!

Hand Painted. That alone would make the stick stand out, but you did a phenomenal job all over! I just hope that the painting below the buttons doesn't fade too quickly.

I switched the buttons out for white ones with a black rim. Having the button match the white color of the stick makes the artwork pop more. Changed the ball top from magenta to white as well. The magenta color was taking away from the art work I think. The black rim on the white button goes nice with Tung's pants as well. I'm much more pleased with this color scheme. I'll post a pic later along with another one I made for my Dreamcast.

Nice! Pics would be rad, hey! how about some closeups of the brush strokes?

Also, if you're concerned about the artwork wearing out, a few coats of varnish would do wonders.

It's hard to really see the brush strokes since it's done with cheap acrylic paint. It's already been varnished up too. I wouldn't want the paint to wear off after all.

Here's a pic of the stick after the button replacement. I'll post a pic of two other sticks I made as well. Neither are hand painted though so they aren't as nice as the Tung stick.

Damn awesome!

Also, the color scheme you chose for the Ikaruga stick buttons was a really nice touch :D
