The tanks and APCs headed toward the sound of the guns, north of the square. There's also shooting from the 6th of October bridge and the Museum of Antiquities (Pro-Mubarak "territory").

I'm glad the internet is back up there for now. A online friend of mine (a moderator at the TOKYOPOP forum) is there in Egypt and not being able to hear from here the last few days was a trifle unnerving but she checked in today and said all is fine with herself for the time being.

I dont understand. Is that video fake or soemthing?

No, it was how that particular n00b likes to frame things. This isn't GameFAQs, people here actually want to learn about things. I'm asking him to mature by about 5-10 years.*

*If possible.

Muslim Brotherhood has said it won't wait for Mubarak to finish his term.

Meanwhile, some of you may not remember this but there are some extreme wings of Islam in Egypt --I remember when they would start massacring tourist in the mid-1990s.

Anonymous is attacking Egyptian gov't websites.

6 October Bridge? Seriously? They're proud of that?

Egypt was successful in the Yom Kippur War, it directly led to getting back control of the Sinai in 1979, which Israel had occupied like they do Jordan's West Bank (which is now known as the Palestinian Territories) and Syria's Golan Heights. It also caused the two countries to make peace with each other.

Mubarak was the leader of the Air Force during that war, which is where he became nationally famous --so he would've no double wanted that to be named after his hour of military glory.

1:00PM Cairo: The army has created a buffer-zone separating the pro-Mubarak anti-protesters north of the Tahrir Square, which is still under control of the anti-government demonstrators. People in the city are trying to get food, water, and medicine to the protesters, but anti-protester thugs are attempting to blockade the side-streets and are intimidating or attacking anyone coming too close to the square, clearly attempting to create a seige.

Some of the anti-protesters caught by the anti-government protesters confessed to working for the security forces, who promised to pay each thug the equivalent to $1000US as reward, if pro-Mubarak forces could re-capture Tahrir Square.

Both anti-government and pro-Mubarak camps are trying to bus in as many people as they can into Cairo from the hinterlands.

Its too bad that DDOS attacks on a government web page aren't really all that productive.

Things like this nurse a small kernel of love for /b/tards within me. No matter how sick and depraved their creative sphincter (/b/) is, some of anon have their hearts in the right place.

Well, now that the lolcats have spoken, such a thing should be considered to be inevitable:

/b/ is no one's personal army, but show cute/funny pictures of cats (and/or enough porn), you may find some /b/tards to be your (temporary) ally...

I heard a lot of reports today of the organized violence against foreigners particularly towards the news media. Seems it's bands of locals who are in league with the police.
