So since 2004 when MR launched their line of Force FX sabers, I've been on a hunt for a particular one.. the Luke Skywalker RotJ. Websites that carried it were sold out, stores never got it in stock etc. etc. etc. I was able to find Vader and Skywalker Empires every-fucking-where. Then the news of MR's demise a couple years back made me REALLY sad.

Well today, I was hanging out with a friend of mine, and we went to Toys R' Us due to being very very bored. We're looking around and they have two displays up in their action figure isles, one specifically for Force FX sabers... but nothing out for sale which was rather baffling. An associate walked by and I asked him if they carried them anymore and he called a guy on his walkie who came over. I pointed to the sabers and he went off and came back a couple minutes later.

"We've got two reds, two blues, and ONE green." My jaw about hit the floor.

I asked him to go get it so I could see it. Sure enough, there was that long sought over priced geek stick I've been looking for (no-homo). I knew that with my situation my wife probably wasn't gonna go for it, but I called her and asked anyways. She asked how much it was, and I asked him to ring it up for a price check... 69.99 I totally played the pity card over the phone, but being the awesome one she is, she let me get it since my birthday present broke and I had to return it without an exchange :(

Long story short, I am a very happy fucker right now

I asked because I've had to take my cat to the vet twice within the month and once was to an emergency clinic due to normal vets being closed and that snow storm crap was on the horizon. He lost the ability to walk, was treated with medicine, got better, then became paralyzed again. They've got him on a heavier medicine but it killed a BIG chunk of my monthly budget :(

O, that sucks.

Pretty amazing that Toys R Us still had a discounted item after several years. You'd think they'd have put it in a clearance bin by now.

There is a plus, he's slowly regaining his mobility. He can only stand for like two seconds before he falls back down, but I'm glad to at least see him moving. Another plus is I at least have an excuse for asking :p

Well, on the plus side the ROTJ skywalker is by far the coolest of the bunch.

Sadly, it's a lame, expensive bunch.

Congrats on the find though, doesn't matter what it is...

I love when stuff like that happens. I don't know why people are ripping on you. I've been searching for older Evangelion Revoltechs. I found a Comic Con exclusive one at a store for $25. I checked the eBay prices, which were like 5X that. Not that that's the part that matters. Sorry about the kitteh.

Nah, the width of the saber beam is WAYYYY too narrow to be true to the ROTJ light saber. The beam on that fucker was like twice the width of ESB saber.
