For the record, I don't think TTT2 Heihachi looks all that bad personally. I am wondering why they even decided to make him young in the first place, I would bet it does have something to do with his voice actor dying. They'll never take him out of the series though, hes too popular. He's actually probably my favorite character in the series even though I suck with him really bad. Mishimas are too tough to use.

Who gives a fuck about fighting game storylines anyway.

That's why I play them casually. I don't think I'll ever main them again. After Tekken Tag there just wasn't enough reward. I find that my skills in Tekken have increased since I've dropped them. I realized that I spent way to much time practicing my EWGF timing instead of concentrating on strats and it was hurting me. Soon as I mained Feng Wei it was a wrap.

I was trying to figure out how to do Taunt->Jet Upper with Bryan the other day. I don't really get his Taunt though.

What do you mean you don't get it? You don't get how to do it or how to use it? I just know it's used to keep up the pressure after a knockdown. It prevents the opponent from defending themselves when they get up. If you master the timing then you could pretty much prevent them from ever escaping you in in-close situations.

I know how to do it, well kind of. The actual execution is pretty difficult for me. Not the taunt itself, but linking Jet Upper to it takes some strict timing.

The taunt makes the Jet Upper unblockable right? Why does it do that?

EDIT: And another thing BigFred, are you kinda worried about what the juggles are gonna look like in TTT2?

Probably too soon to tell. From the footage I've seen it seems that the game will feature Tekken 6 juggles but done between both characters. I'm cool with it if that's the case.

In T6 our local crew will occasionally play on 120%. The game plays a hell of a lot better imo, don't know if this is an actual solution though to the high damage from juggles.

It makes the opponent vulnerable for a certain amount of frames because it either does a guard break or a guard stun. So if you perform a move that has less frames than the amount of frames that your opponent is vulnerable the move becomes guaranteed.

Like you said it's strict timing (Just Frame). During the hit frame of the taunt you have to input the attack you wish to follow it so it registers as a 2 hit combo. If your timing is off they'll be able to block the f,b+2 as it won't register like a combo. Takes practise. If it was easy everyone would be doing it.

The old game near a wall was to just do taunt cancel into 3. For the wall launch. In the video the Bryan player chooses the Jet Upper to get a high wall launch - in order to get extra hits.

And what does Jin unlearning Mishima Karate have to do with silliness?

Do you think it makes any sense for someone to "unlearn" something? You don't magically "unlearn" something you been doing your entire life. The idea of it is silly.

I don't wanna argue this anymore. Agree to disagree.

Tekken is some complicated shit. I dont know why Im even messing with something like taunt-Jet Upper when I dont even have the basic fundementals of movement down.

We can agree to disagree but I still don't see how what happened tot Jin makes him a less serious character. Hell even the situation made it Jin's character more serious. He hated his father's side of the family so he made his own path. There's nothing funny about that. Also in the storyline he had only learned Mishima style Karate for 4 years not his entire life.

Tekken can be complicated but that taunt into Jet upper is no more difficult than anything else i've seen in any other game. I'm pretty sure you can get it bro. You got this! You play on a stick too so you should be beasting it with that taunt!

That taunt-jet upper thing sounds cheap. I hope they get rid of it for future Tekken games.

Not what I meant. It's silly as in downright stupid. No one can forget what was learn for most of their lives. If it said that chose not to use that fighting style it would be fine. Stating that he unlearned it is bullshit.

well i figure martial arts is training your body to react to an attacker without really thinking about it.
so, muscle-memory.
if your natural reaction is a mishima-style attack, you could retrain your body to naturally react with a kazama-style attack instead.
keep doing that long enough, and you're gonna forget how to do mishima attacks.
just like how i haven't played tekken in so damn long, i probably wouldn't be able to do any combos i used to be able to.

i dunno.
i get what you're saying, and i'm sure i'm not accurately conveying what i'm trying to say, but i think it's possible.

Hmm it's really not cheap IMO. It's actually probably less cheap than an unblockable move. Because you have to break their guard and immediately attack after that with a quick move.

I'm usually the first one to whine and complain about something cheap but I actually enjoy watching a Bryan player who knows how to use it.

Or on par with an unblockable move. The taunt is actually unblockable, any move chained from the cancel in turn becomes unblockable.

But if you watch Mr. Naps' games, he still misses probably around 50% of the time and he's been using Bryan for years. It's the same with all the harder Just Frame moves.

Oh, that doesn't seem too bad then, I guess..
