I guess I'm not getting how the initial potential buyer tried to "weasel a deal" when the seller chose to lower the price after not getting a response.
It'd be like a grocery store refusing to sell products to people who didn't buy something when it was at its regular price. "Sorry Sir/Madame, you can't have that 12 pack of Coke which this week is on sale because you didn't buy it last week when it was full price."
Whether the non-response time was 2 days or 2 weeks, it doesn't matter. Don't lower a price if you'll be bothered to sell it at that price. But on the flip side, which didn't happen here, don't agree to buy something at a predetermined price, then once it's removed from the market start to ask for the price to be lowered behind the scenes. That would be weaseling a deal.
