Most times the PS3 version is better, because it is superior architecture.

no.
i dont know how this misinformation continues to persist.

the 360 has a better gpu and in general a more powerful (as in more usable) 3 core cpu.

the ps3 has a worse gpu and a weird 7 partial cores with a really bad cpu controlling the cores.

for every game thats better on ps3 you can find at least two examples that are better on 360.

mafia 2 didnt have grass. ghostbusters didnt have the same particle or texture effects or the same level of aa. it goes on.

typically the main development platform looks better, and thats usually the 360. except in the case of something very japanese like ff13, which was supposed to be exclusive anyway, you get a bad 360 port.

I have played the demo using my ps plus account. The frame rate is terrible. It drops below 20 fps in some cases. I don't know how the 360 version will be like, but the ps3 version is not smooth at all. To be fair, it's still a demo, so things may change.

Guys, he already said, the 360 version's basically gonna be a port. The http://www.lensoftruth.com web site is your friend if you want to settle this dispute about which console is usually better.

lol, it's still a shitty game regardless of what platform you play it on :D

I just started playing it last night.

Graphically, it STUNNING. I like the menus, the interface, the simple play style and the fact that it seems easy for new players to adapt to. I like Lightnnig quite a bit, but think Zazh is a stupid character design. I don't like the 'nervous, panicky' character type. It just comes off as annoying.

Dude, you got guns, you rock a 'fro and a chocobo lives in your hair. Why are you panicking about ANYTHING?

Also, not digging the high technology. I don't HATE it, but it all feels played out. At least it's visual style didn't evoke memories of Episode One the way XII did when I fired it up.

From what I understand, the gameplay gets monotonous until about 25 hours in. Crazy. Can I last that long? We'll see.

Ever Since Fifa 96 I stuck to the Playstation format. Last year I bought Fifa 10 for the Ps3 even after playing the demo on both formats and noticing that the game play ran much smoother and the graphics were slightly better on the 360, but I thought it was just my imagination.

After playing the Fifa 11 demo I noticed the same thing, and now thanks to the lens of truth I could see that there actually is a difference. I just broke tradition and cancelled my pre-order on the Fifa 11 ps3 version. Getting the Xbox version instead.

I'm still going with Castlevania on the triple though. :)

I liked it. What happens is that the game doesn't actually open everything up to you until about that far in, which is kind of annoying.

Yeah, Sazh is probably the worst or second worst character next to Snow. Though that dumb kid that always whines is annoying as hell, too. Though at least Lightning and Fang are both pretty cool.

The gameplay is really solid, IMO, makes up for most stuff.

As far as the graphics go, I played it on the 360, and that version looks terrible, really. It was compressed to hell in the translation, really honestly wish I had played the PS3 version. Look at comparison shots of the cinematics, in particular, to see just how bad it really was. The textures are also really bad.

But overall, not sonic is right, the lead platform is the one that's normally going to look better, and that's often the 360 version. Thankfully, more and more companies seem willing to put resources into both versions of their titles now, and both come out looking awesome, ala Modern Warfare 2.

Yeah, I've played CoD4, WaW and MW2 on both next gen systems and if there is a difference graphically I definitely could not tell. Infinity Ward and Treyarch definitely take time to ensure their PS3 ports are good.

The only game I've personally played that was just straight out better on the 360 was Bayonetta. I played the PS3 demo and it was worse, graphically. It didn't ruin the game or anything IMO, but if you have a choice the 360 version is definitely what you should go with. What a waste, there was no reason that game couldn't have ran just fine on the PS3. Just a sloppy port.

Based on these reviews and how they break down the game's various parts, I am really looking forward to it. A lot.

Word is that the 360 version doesn't chug as much as the PS3. Which sucks.

It looks good, but it also looks like it has some of the awkward climbing and traversing control/camera angle problems that pissed me off in Shadow of the Colossus.

I took a chance and picked this one up tonight. From what I've played so far, your comment is accurate. Why they felt the need to completely rip off SotC for a Castlevania game is a mystery. Especially in such a shameless and uninteresting way.

Combat is fun though, for what it is. I guess I will be forever spoiled by Bayonetta because no third person action game can touch it and I don't think Lords of Shadow is going to change that from what I've played. But thats not to say it isn't fun, it is. And while not many things about the game have immediately made me think "Castlevania", the settings that I've seen so far are pretty cool. Excellent voice acting too, but thats to be expected out of the talent they assembled for the cast.

Yeah, this is going to sound stupid, but the voice cast is almost the thing that makes me want to play it most.

It is definitely one of the cooler parts of the game so far. Patrick Stewert's narration is really well done.

He makes anything sound cooler. Him and James Earl Jones.

I've been hearing the opposite which is why I switched my preorder to the PlayStation version. Poo, I have to decide by 3 o'clock today.

Yea, the minute I saw that first trailer and heard Patrick Stewert's voice, I had to have this game. It really got my attention. Should be sitting at my door step by the time I get back from work.
