I have 2 signed posters of Soilwork's new album. One of them (the one in the pic) has a smudged signature. I can't tell if that happened because of the extreme heat in which the envelope was shipped in, or what, but I plan on framing the other, nicer one. In the picture there's a drumstick used in the recording of the album, signed by the band, as well as a guitar pick, which is signed by Peter Wichers. This is definitely one of the cooler items I have, especially since that album is by far the best one I've heard this year:

My grandfather's brother's initials are AER, but he died when my grandpa was young. So my grandpa named his son after him, and in turn that son gave me a first and middle name which resulted in AER as well.

What are you going to name your song, Sage? Bolo? Tong Po?

I like to collect autographs, so I thought I'd share some of mine...

I've always been a huge fan of Ralph McQuarrie and all his concept artwork, especially Star Wars and Star Trek. I went to a Star Wars Fan Days convention last year, and one of his partners had a booth with a ton of his work for sale and some of them autographed. Sadly, McQuarrie doesn't attend conventions anymore due to his age and having Parkinson's, so when I saw this concept art, I just had to have it.

Back in '93, my father got us season tickets to the Dallas Stars after they moved here from Minnesota. All I knew about hockey back then was Wayne Gretzky and the Montreal Canadians. After going to that first game, I fell in love with the game, and have been a huge fan ever since. Over the years, my father and I have gone to a lot of practices, events, signings, etc. This cap is signed by the Dallas Stars '93 through '97 teams. I even got Mike Modano on there somewhere.

This is the crown jewel of my collection. A few years ago, when Brett Hull still played for the Dallas Stars, my father and I went to a game. As usually, we got there early so we could get some food and get to our seats to watch warm ups. Well, after a while we noticed a line forming on one of the stair ways and that someone in the press box was signing autographs. I couldn't tell who it was from where I was sitting, and really didn't have anything to autograph but my Stars program. Anyway, I grabbed my program and ran up there, and holy shit, it turned out to be BOBBY HULL! The Golden Jet himself! A true hockey legend! I was so awe struck all I could do was tell him that it was a true honor and privilege to meet one of the all time greats! He must have thought I was crazy. He had the biggest grin and signed my program, shook my hand and gave me wink. I ran down to my father as fast as I could, and he couldn't believe that I met him. Really awesome time!

Still available through BEST Electronics as far as I know. I bought them in 2005. I can't play
with the crappy American pads. Euro pads or nothing.

Hope that helps. Good to see another 7800 fan.

:smirk:

I need some of those 7800 pads too. I like my 7800, but I'm partial to the 5200 more or less, it just has better games. But I just need to pick up some of the homebrews from Atari Age sometime, I want that Pac Man Collection and 7800 Super Pac Man.

Good pics merc.

I like to buy coins, but I'm not a super serious collector just stuff I happen upon or if I find a good deal. Here's a selection of some older and slightly interesting stuff out of the thousands I have:

French Vichy note from 1943.

French 10 centimes from 1870.

English coin from 1792, this is a trade coin, kinda of like a gift certificate. Was legal tender, but only at certain stores. Has George III image on it to verify legal tender.

Dood what are you talking about (what's to be upset about?) that's fucking bad ass. I'd hang that on my bed room wall or some shit. It's a fucking THING that in and of itself cannot harm anyone.

wow.
wish I had all my cds.
I eventually started seeing so many shows after awhile
that I would buy a tshirt to kind of remember I was at a show.
I moved onto cds later and would get them signed by the band.
nobody rolling stones famous, but bands I really enjoyed seeing.

Ok here is something. A copy of Common Sense by Thomas Paine in full first edition reprint.

PICT0098.jpg

PICT0097.jpg

Love that shit.

Goes well with my facsimile copy of the Dunlap Broadside of the Declaration of Independence.

PICT0078.jpg

I also hope to put a facsimile copy of the first edition printing of all the Federalist Papers in the mix. But that one is 200 bucks.

1999 Liefman's Goudenband. Fantastic beer that is still holding up. Still have 5 left.

PICT0077.jpg

Holy. Fucking. Shit.

Pretty sure I've seen that copy of Common Sense before...but daaaammnn...Where can the 'duf acquire such a beautiful copy of this pamphlet?

It looks like a Mettlach. Take pictures of the bottom of the stein itself. I collect Hauber and Reuther, and Marzy Remy also, but that piece has tell tale Mettlach signs. In terms of a quality paint job before firing, that piece is solid. Mettlachs are almost always etched, in that case, it isn't etched, but seems like a good candidate to be a non etched Mettlach. If it has a little castle mark its a Mettlach/Villeroy and Boch. If there is no castle mark or numbering, it might be something else. Gimme the bottom mark and I'll tell you in a instant. Some situations are harder though.

Only stamps on the bottom say "Germany" and "1184". No marks that I recall. I'll give it another look over for anything else today.

I'll try to track another one down. I saw one on eBay ages ago and missed it in the bidding and fearing another may not show for a while just cracked and bought one for a good bit more from an online book dealer.

I don't know exactly when it was printed though, the only part on the inside pages that isn't 100% facsimile is a small stamp that says "Treasures of the Library of Congress - Authorized Reprint - Easton Press".

Careful though as there is an Easton Press version apparently also called the Treasures of the Library of Congress series that is in a blue leather binding with gold gilded edged pages. That one is a facsimile of the text but not a facsimile reprint.

This is a sketch of Daniel J. Darby from JoJo's Bizarre Adventures that was drawn and signed by Junichi Hayama, who is the character designer for the Jojo's anime. Met him in 1996 and he drew this for me after I asked him for it. He was surprised I didn't want a Jotaro Kujo or Dio Brando sketch.

kdk_0523-1.jpg

this is my college degree. Note how they were too lazy to put what I actually got a degree in.
By itself a bachelors in Psychology is pretty useless. Hence I'm in grad school.
I have long fingers.

i got one of my bachelor's degrees there. They also did not put my major on there. dumbasses.

Damn, you guys got some great stuff! I WOULD post my signature book but some weeaboo stole it two years ago when I tried to add to the list. I had some many people on that list and I know for a fact one of them i'll never get again (Martin Nodell, one of the creators of Green Lantern). I'll post when I get my camera ready to go!

Yeah, my university put my major on there, but not my focus, which kind of devalues it.

Not pictured: Receiving End of Sirens shirts from their break-up show and their reunion show. One says "I went to the last TREOS show and all I got was this lousy shirt." The other says "This shirt is a ticket to The Receiving End of Sirens Reunion Show, 2012."
