I preordered the 360 version just expecting that version to be superior as is usually the case but now I have found out that the PS3 was the "lead" console and the 360 version will have to be on two disks. Needless to say, I'm thinking about switching my preorder. What do you guys think?

EDIT: Corrected title cuz i'm a dufus

I'm getting the Ps3 Collectors edition, but thats just because I rather have it on the Ps3. I'm pretty sure the xbox version will have the option to install the game. Two discs is not a big deal.

Yea but the differences in the ps3 and 360 version of FFXIII make me leery of not having the lead platform version.

If it's available on both PS3/360 I always get the PS3 version...so PS3 for me.

Sounds like a prudent move. Get on it.

PS3 whenever possible.

That's the version I'm getting.

May not matter in the end. If I had both consoles, I'd just wait until there's confirmation from reviews/people before purchasing. With games like Bayonetta, it was clear that the PS3 verision was vastly inferior, but most games are pretty identical any more.

Yeah, I was going to say.

Really? I thought it was usually the other way around, going all the way back to Ridge Racer. And big time in the case of FF13.

I would lean towards the 360 version. Though the difference between the PS3 and 360 version will be minimal at best. Just like the example of FF13, the graphical difference between the two consoles was very close, I can't really argue.

ff13 is one of the few examples of the ps3 version being better.

the 360 version was a lazy port. theres no way they couldn't have encoded the video better.

id wait and see.

if ps3 is the lead platform id lean towards that if you have to have it right away.

wish there was a pc version of most games.

I'll get the PS3 version for sure.

What's in the CE, anyway?

* Game disc
* Art book (estimated 30-40 pages)
* Soundtrack (estimated 18-20 tracks)
* Special Limited Edition packaging

I'm also feeling the cover art alot more then the regular version.

Most times the PS3 version is better, because it is superior architecture. Not is the case for SUPER IV and SFIV though, which added a extra frame, making every combo in the game requiring a '1 frame' link more difficult. I'll be buying PS3 for titles like this. Fighters require more research.

From the red ring issue, I'd definitely be buying PS3 titles over the 360 if I had one when it comes to drawn out games. I have held out on a 360 because of this, but I want one for fighters..

Well it makes sense though. Its stupid to compare XBOX 360 shit to PS3. Like a unfair comparison in terms of actual system power.

There were a lot of comparison pictures and videos posted online and the difference was pretty drastic.

I've seen the website that compares both systems, and the difference is hardly "drastic." I wish I could find the site, but side by side, the screenshots are hardly discernible. You'd have to be an extremely anal graphics guy to get bent out of shape over those differences.

As for the original topic, it all depends on how it's developed for each system. Just wait and see reviews/comparisons after the game is released. The 360 and PS3 put out graphically comparable games, so it's not like one will always have better graphics no matter what.

You are crazy. The differences included some things casting or not casting shadows. That's drastic.

My roommate has the PS3 version. I have the 360. I've spent personal time with both, and honestly could see no differences on the same HD tv. I'm not saying there isn't, but it really isn't that big of a deal, or at least as much of a big deal to me as it was the 360 needing multiple discs.

I mean, take this for instance... What big shadows are missing that's going to drive the regular gamer insane?
