Everyone better enjoy this season before the 2011 lockout wipes out half a season or more.

You never know, they don't seem to be getting any closer on the 18 game schedule resolution, and that's going to be a big sticking point to the veterans who know the toll the season takes on their bodies.

Pro football really is the best sport to watch in HD. I've been waiting for the season to start at least a couple of months. I can already see my Sundays wasting away. Green Bay vs. Indy in the SuperBowl is my call, barring any major injuries.

Pete Prisco on CBS Sports is calling Indy vs. Atlanta. He sees Atlanta beating Dallas in the NFC championship, and Dallas beating GB to get there. Some things he predicts don't make much sense. The Giants getting the wildcard - probably not going to happen. They aren't a very good team anymore. Minnesota is getting the wildcard, with or without Favre.

I also see the Colts as favorites to get to the SB, but I think they are going to have to do it through the Ravens. Ed Reed is going to be back for the second half of the season and at that point, their defense will be rock solid. Cinci on the other hand, has Carson Palmer, who won't survive the season. He's injury prone. I also don't see the Patriots doing too well over the course of the season. Too many question marks for them. Question marks that need to be corrected for Brady to enjoy a beast like season. Moss is the big one. They need to just make him happy. It's not like dealing with TO. Moss is reasonable. Get him a contract extension. You don't need to get him the ball and have him win you the game. Just make him feel wanted. Girlfriends 101. Simple shit.

Here's the link to that article I mentioned

I was never much for sports, but for some reason I got slightly more interested last season. I went from not giving a shit at all to watching it if someone else in the room is watching it.

There's lots of hype about the Vikings Vs Saints game. People all over town are wearing their jerseys, and the show minute to win it had a Vikings player on it. So there's more interest in the game beyond Louisiana and Mpls.

I'm a Falcons fan and I don't understand all the hype of them this season. I think they'll be good, probably 11-5 or 10-6, but I certainly don't see a legit SuperBowl run out of them.

I can name 4 NFC teams that are better.

Pro football really is the best sport to watch in HD.

Hockey is also great in HD. The difference in how the ice looks between HD and standard is night and day.

I really hope they don't get hung up on the 18 week issue because they could do it if they wanted to without killing themselves by just introducing a second bye week for each team. But the NFL probably doesn't want that or the owners because their money is in more games. It'd work for the NFL as a whole though because that's still one more week of revenue, but we'll see what happens.

As for this year, as with every year in football, I'm just glad we can now get to the point where all the analysis we hear is on games that matter, not preseason games where none of the teams are even running their A team all the time or even worse, before even that where they try to analyze teams that aren't even settled in yet. The game on now has been kind of boring to me. Vikings are just off, Brett & the receivers keep missing each other and the Saints just aren't hitting the high scoring affair this game. A bit sloppy on both sides from what I did see but hey, it's week one.

San Francisco will take the NFC West.

We'll make the playoffs.

We have most of the pieces in place for another dynasty run but we still need a QB.

According to /sports/ on 420chan, here is what they predict for the season. Thoughts? I HOPE the Cowboys can make it all the way. I only have to drive 10 minutes to the game. :)

Hard to tell if the Steeler's D is that tough or the Falcon's offense is that awful.

Losing to them without Ben isn't a good way to kick off that highly praised upcoming season though.

49ers got rolled by the Seahawks. I didn't get to watch the game so I don't know if Pete Carroll has the Hawks playing that good or if my Niners just fell the fuck apart. Whatever the reason we're 0-1 now.

Time to move on to the next game.

A lot of people were expressing their love for Dixon on Saturday before the game, saying that the Steelers were going to upset the Falcons. I don't know if it was Steel City Homos talking, or just people that knew that Dixon was good, but they were right. I wouldn't mind seeing a new face at QB for the steelers. Big Ben needs to go. He gave two SBs back to the city, he should retire now to South East Asia where he can rape young girls.

I'm a diehard Cowboys fan, but even I know that they won't make it to the big show as long as Garrett is our offensive coordinator. I can't fathom why he calls some of the plays he does. Too many mistakes last night. Just like what plauged us all year last year. Apparently, the team still hasn't read the NFL rulebook yet. :blow_top::blow_top::blow_top:

If anything, at least Dez Bryant looked decent, but he needs to loose the rookie atittude.

IF ANYTHING, Miles Austin looked like the real deal and not some one season wonder. That guy is going to be huge.

That is, unfortunately, the correct interpretation of the rule as it's currently written, refs got it right.

Mike Vick looked really good in the Eagles game after Kolb got hurt, I don't care if Reid says Kolb is starting next week, I bet anything he's ruled too hurt to play, especially since it was a concussion.

Yep. Sucks for the Lions, and kinda sucks for me as a Bears fan as they were only able to beat the Lionson a technicality. Dude didn't hold on to the ball after catching it in the endzone and getting tackled. That is no TD. Shame too. Even though my team won, I have no resentment for the Lions, and in all likelihood, the guy was excited to celebrate and didn't think to come up with the ball

The Bears are going to be awful to watch this year, BTW.

Enjoy having Jay Cutler pout your team into oblivion! :envy: Eh, not like the Broncos are any better. My primary source of entertainment watching them lose to the Jags yesterday was trying to read Josh McDaniels' lips after every terrible play they made (and there were plenty). Dude doesn't get the press for it that Rex Ryan does, but around CO, he's known for it, and he can indeed swear like a sailor.
