I'm going to keep my opinion on that one to myself I guess...

What's wrong with a rebel who ordered his troops to rape women, murder children and opposed freedom of speech and religion ? He was also a raging racist and homophobe (he had gays jailed or executed).

Hey, he had a message of "freedom" right ?

...yeah...I'm not a fan of the guy either...

There are a ton of people out there wearing pictures of that man that really don't know what he did...

There's many "freedom fighters" in the history of this world that are often held in high regard that I don't care for.

Here's a fact...Cuba is a oppressed shithole...I don't think anyone can dispute that. Even if you look past all of Guevara's "indiscretions"...the system he helped put in place is reason enough not to agree with who he was or what he did.

Simply "fighting the man" does not make one a hero or enlightened. Sometimes "the man" is better than the person trying to overthrow them.

You fucking gringos know nothing, you think you do but you're all fucking clueless. You've been indoctrinated with what "the man" wants you to believe. USA has always been known for looking down on anything related to communism or any movement that doesn't support capitalism, thus the propaganda you call your truth. I love the US, but I can't agree with that resentment they have against things like these.

Ignorance is not a virtue folks, spread yourselves with some knowledge before you come in and talk ill about that which you don't understand.

Fuck, I'm not even gonna let it turn into another douche fest, so I'm just gonna close this with acknowledging that the reasons you believe Che to be a tyrant are just and noble, but alas you don't know the truth so I can't expect you to have a sound judgement on this.

Hasta la victoria siempre!

PS: Talk about Simon Bolivar! Of course you wouldn't 'cause all you want to point is the black dot on the white paper...

I've forgotten more about Ernesto "Che" Guevara Lynch than most ppl know. I studied EVERYTHING available to me in the English language for 5 fucking years. He did do some fucked up shit, but so does most ppl in revolutions and wars. He also did a lot of good, and based off of what he personally dealt with, he made the decisions he did. At the time Fidel Castro seemed to be a perfect fit for him. It turned out that was not the case, and I'm still convinced it was Fidel who sold him out that led to his demise in Bolivia.

I do not agree with this politics, but I'd have gotten along with him as a person. I see much Iron in the words Smokehouse spoke above. YES, it's true that "the man" may well be better than an overthrow. Hence why I see no point in being apart of nor joining any fringe groups that have sought to recruit me for fantasy land bull ca ca IRL. I'm surprised at how many ppl mistake me for some radical in all honesty. I hate the current system, but know I personally don't have anything better to be implemented, so I'd never bother. I just live my life. Because like you stated, that's what's there. To have an uprising and possibly win is easy, being able to govern better than what was overtrown is the hard part.

However. Guevara did not fuck the Revolucion up. FIDEL DID. Che took his efforts into Africa, and other parts of South America. But Fidel kept him on a leash and was becoming afraid of him. "First my revoultion and then yours." he'd said to Che. But he never made good on it. I personally don't wear shirts and stuff with his image on them because, it's the direct opposite of what he stood for. While there is much I find fault with concerning Che... I respect him enough to do that. BUT... I usually "respect" my enemies more than I do my friends and associates for some odd reasons. We'd still kill one another if necessary, but we're of a similar mold. Not identical but of a similar mold.

The other guy that most don't understand is T.E. Lawrence. But I'm not getting into that.

The world is what it is.

This is the problem...more often than not, when some radicals overthrow a government...they make it worse or the same as it was over time. Look at the US. We fought against the British only to make this country just as bad under or own rule. The United States of today is no better than what the British rule was..."taxation without representation"? Sounds just like what we have in place now.

Everything I said in my post is 100% historically true, yet some people simple refuse to believe it. They'll throw out the "the man" is changing history excuse.

Reminds me of holocaust deniers. They'll always use the "the Jews rewrote history to make the innocent nazi party look bad" bullshit excuse.

See, I respect Merc because he openly admits Guevara did some fucked up shit, but it was his passion for what he believes in that he admires.

Sort of like how you were an incredible racist that was against abolition but admired John Brown for his courage enough to show up to see him hanged?

Hayley Williams (American; 1988 – present)
Hayley Williams is the lead singer of Paramore and winner of several "most beautiful female" awards.

IT's as much about her hair as it is about Hannah Minx's tits.

My votes:

Heartless Ninny - His posts and his attitude is completely boring and mediocre to a level that puts him above all men.

Southtown Kid - Because he's a 40something man drawing comic books.

DashK - Because he's a smartass, fast food lover, and a consistent one-liner machine.

rarehero - because he thinks
in a poetic hipster style
and is the only oriental in history I don't
get along with.

Spinmaster X - One of the few non-stereotypical worldly blax on the Internet.

Bobak - He's a globe-trotting gourmet with an abstract sense of humor.

Merc - A walking erection with a love of cyberpunk. Erects walls of text.

jro - MMA superfan and gets more new releases than Amazon.

Any guy over 25 who lives with their parents - I don't care what your excuse is, you're all national treasures.

Hannah Minx - Biggest titted weeabo chic on the Internet this side of a anime con.

Neswaga - If you can buy a new house without a job, you're my hero.

ToNK - The only person I know who's a cave freak who doesn't live with their parents. Suspected Goomba and winner of wasabi's "creepiest dude on NG.com" award. Ethug with a heart of gold.

wasabi - his bromance with Lonesage demonstrated he was a more laid-back dude than we thought.

Lonesage - My personal stalker who we had confused with wasabi.

Eugene S./Milos (whoever the fuck he is) - rides people's dicks like the chics in Paradious ride rockets.

YuckMud - My kind of nerd. The kind of dude you could pop open a rolling rock and play a round of pinball with.

Plastic instrument players - because with all time you spend playing fake instruments, you could learn a real instrument.

FeelGood - Goofiest guy on the boards. He is missed.

Master T. - His doll lust antics took the target off my back.

Stinky Dinkins - Gives DashK a run for his money. Could run for office.

Merc, I think you pretty much summarized my thoughts as well.

The only thing that annoys me more than people who blindly worship Che are the people who do the whole ironic hipster "oh, he did bad things".

Um, no.

That's the intellectual equivalent of discounting everything Thomas Jefferson did "because he owned slaves".

Explain why you think killing children is noble.
Let's reiterate that for a second you jumping buffon.

I said the reasons behind your resentment towards Guevara are just and noble, but they are just that 'cause you don't know any better.

Do any of you even know how things run down there? Do you know about aborigenes? Do you know about how capitalism is overruning the last few free folk away from their land, from their homes? Everything is turning into gimme gimme gimme and no one wants to work for the common good of the land, no one wants to sacrifice for a good cause anymore.

The ladder to power can corrupt even the strongest will and the most noble intentions, there's no doubt that blood has been shed, violence is never easy, is not like the movies where everyone just shoots and no one gets hurt, of course there's no excuse for bloodshed nor tyranny, but even the greatest men of our history have stained their names with blood, but Che was absolute, he never deviate from what he believed in, he knew the work ahead was never going to be easy.

I laugh at you fuckers talking about situations you haven't even seen with your own eyes and come here chanting parades of idiocy like you have any right to pass judgement on someone elses ideals. FUCK OFF!

Bligerant fools talking nonsense and knowing zero about pain, death nor greater good. You all pride yourselves in being intellectual but then any sort of common sense escapes your minds for the sake of argument. You come in here and you talk about your goverment and do nothing, you come in here and you talk about someone elses ideals like they are "hip" or rebelious and mock them and yet know nothing but what's there for you to criticize.

You know nothing so I shouldn't be upset, but it does get me wind up when I see so many self procllaimed "intelligent" people here and yet I see nothing wise about your finger pointing.

I have come to terms with making a difference, this much is true, but I'll never succumb to be like you, sendentary jackals.

PS: Couldn't resist, had to do it, don't take it personal...take it as a group.

I cannot expect fools to understand. When was the last time any of you did anything for someone else? Did it ever involved your life? Sacrifice is something most of you are ignorant about and yet here you are talking about shirts and hipster shenanigans. It really is a waste of time to try and reason with people like you, I'm not gonna 'cause is a pain in the ass, just flame away with your little witty brains and let it be done. I could tell you many things I have experienced during my time in the Amazones and in the mountains, things I've seen and things I've done, but I'm not about to justify my ideals to people like you.

May your ignorance bid you well in whatever it is you call your existence.

I think it would be interesting to get figures from the world's religions in a single room. Jesus, Moses, Mohammed, etc etc. Then throw in spiked bats, singapore canes, thumbtacks and cheese graters for the ultimate "Who's the real God" Deathmatch!

Listen man...we're all entitled to our own opinions and viewpoints...

...but...

You sure do get more flies with honey than vinegar. You want to win me over? then tell me what Guevara did that made him great (or at least point me out to some online reading). I'll have an open mind but I will form my own opinion.

I actually studied him quite a bit recently when he came up during a workplace conversation. I personally feel he did far more bad than good but I'm welcome to being persuaded...

Just don't insult me personally, you'll get nowhere taking that approach.
