Fixed the 2nd and 3rd, whoever posted these originally put brackets in the filename and the forum didn't like them.
It's not from Porco Rosso, but it was probably dont around the same time. I gather those pages are from work Miyazaki did for some minitures/models magazine in Japan, and he usually focused on WWII era stuff. A lot of the characters in those scans seem to be pigs, so it was definately related to Porco Rosso to some extent.

The top three pages were collected in a book called Miyazaki Hayao's Daydream Data Note, which reprinted stuff he did for Model Graphix magazine between 1984 and 1992.

Styling is definitely spot on. Perhaps some differences here and there but to me it looks like the same person doing both (even though I know it isn't).

its kinda similar but Masamune Shirow's tank police is without a doubt a heavy influence

the neo geo has many influances from diferant manga.fatal fury takes from dragonball (tung fu ru).terry and rock take from lone wolf and cub,samurai showdown takes heavaly from ninja scroll.last resort takes from akira.it's great.
