The only way this will be hilarious if they can't get into the NBA finals or not win it all.

So it's LeBron, Wade, Bosh and a cast of several.

Wonder what the Vegas odds of them winning the championship is...

Poor Cleveland. I feel horrible for their fans -- and by "fans", I mean those who didn't just hop onboard the big LeHype bandwagon (which is, I'm guessing, a solid 80% or so at least). Sure, their teams weren't the best from a talent standpoint, but the ENTIRE ORGANIZATION AND FANBASE just bent over backwards (repeatedly) for this egocentric douche. There should be a lesson to come out of this regarding pro athletes and their influence beyond the court/field/etc...just sad all around.

Well color me wrong and then some.

I am so rooting against Miami next year, whatever little interest I'll be be able to muster to even pay attention to the NBA. Kind of gay that three free agents sit around together (it's been confirmed that Bosh, Wade, and James met at Akron, even though they originally denied it) to figure out where they could play together. Just seems to break the spirit of competition, can't ever remember free agency playing out like this in any other sport ever, and it would be a complete sham if it started a trend- what's next, is Carmelo going to call the second and third biggest free agents for next year to work out which team they should all agree to play for?

Boston will still beat Miami, anyway. They damn well better.

I dont think Boston can beat the Heat unless all 3 stars get injured at the same time,,

Miami it is... Why does anyone even like this guy?

What is so wrong about the decision? He wants to win and he sees the opportunity to do that a lot in Miami. Unlike a certain other NBA player he is constantly compared to he hasn't done anything off-court to tarnish his image.

I'm a bit surprised why anyone is even surprised he chose Miami since it was pretty obvious he was going there. It was all just a media setup by all three of them (Wade, Bosh and James). The obvious sign was last week when they had Wade and Bosh sitting together in their own chairs, then had a 3rd empty chair and they both saying "Well, as you can see, we're missing somebody"....Uh, yeah.

Once Bosh signed, you knew he was coming along. Totally do not buy his statement that he decided this morning. Doesn't matter though, I still don't see them if they make it to the finals beating the Lakers. As long as Kobe is around, he would rather die than see someone like James win a ring and would be even more hungry to show him up and show him what a clutch player looks like. He, Pau and Co. already beat a Triple threat in Allen, Garnett, Pierce he can do it to these guys too.

Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant stuck/stick to their teams no matter what. Through thick and thin. He's moving to Wade's home now. Cleavland was Lebron's home.

He might or might not of won a championship in Cleavland, but we will never know now. He's still a hall of fame player, championship ring or no championship ring. IMO, it was a poor decision. What a fool.

Way to tell the Cleavland fans to go fuck themselves.

Only in Youngstown...

My brother and friends were sitting on their porch when LeBron announced this shit...

The grabbed his jersey, wrapped it in a quarter stick, and doused it in gas...

As they were doing this, a news crew went down the street and interviewed them.

Thats my buddy Josh putting the fire out.

Well I hate the NBA already and you couldn't pay me to go to a Heat game as I'd much rather go see the Marlins take on the Astros or even the Padres. I stopped following the Heat right before I went to college in '01 and having to deal w/a buncha cocky, arrogant, and obnoxious folks from South Florida--Miami to be exact--while in school just really turned me off to the team, esp. when folks act like Miami is a basketball hotbed that rivals the likes of Rucker, The Cage, Soul In The Hole, and Venice.

Sigh, bandwagoners ahoy, I guess.

I feel bad for Cleveland on this honestly.

But it proved LeBron is nothing but a huge piece of shit whose ego has inflated to levels that would make Dion Dakis cringe.

To do that to the Cavaliers fanbase in the manner that he did it, was classless on so many levels. The ironic thing with this is that LeBron claims to be a Yankee fan, but he obviously never learned anything about how Derek Jeter has conducted himself all these years.

You want to leave?

Fine, but to make a goddamn 1 hour TV show about it?

Please, that's just fucking pathetic. The TV show is really what bothers me about the whole thing.

I hope he never wins shit in Miami.

Well, you never know. Fucked up shit usually happens when you get to many super stars on one team. Its like they cross each other out. Although Wade wants to win and he likes Lebron, don't know if he wants the spot light stolen from him. Its going to be interesting to see if there is chemistry and if they actually make it to the finals.

I actually like the quote from the Cavs owner.

"I personally guarantee that the Cleveland Cavaliers will win an NBA championship before the self-titled former "king" wins one.

I wouldn't bet on that though. The Cavs don't have shit now. Trying to rebuild around an Mo Williams and the aging Jamison isn't going to be easy.

Fuck yes, here's the whole thing:

Open Letter to Fans from Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

Dan Gilbert
Majority Owner
Cleveland Cavaliers

edit: also, mark it down, the first game that Miami plays in Cleveland this season... That's gonna be the loudest booing in the history of pro sports. Maybe the Cavs can do some kind of promo where you get a free hotdog if you bring your semi-charred jersey and wave it all game.

I can't wait.

quoth Lebron: "We don't have the pressure of going out and scoring 30 every night or shooting a high percentage." Are you fucking kidding me? Kobe would fucking throw up if heard him say that. So would Jordan. Hell, so would Tim Duncan. Isiah or Magic or Bird or fuck me, that's just pathetic. He also said, "I know how loyal I am." There aren't even words for that one.

Damn Mikey, you're always in the middle of the news :D

LeBron maintained he had three priorities: to be the first athlete billionaire, to win a number of championships, and to be popular. He would never be able to achieve the latter if he didn't stay in Cleveland. He not only broke the hearts of the entire city, his hometown, but he has turned himself into a heel.

Michael Jordan was an ass to his teammates, but he never folded on them and never backed down from a challenge. Kobe cheated on his wife and whined about most of his teammates, but he always came out with determination and grit. It's easy to hate them, but when you watched them you had to give respect to their game. With LeBron, while he's had his share of dominating performances (like the 25 points in a row in overtime during the 07 playoffs), he's folded far too often and played around too much trying to appease his fans and become popular.

He will never be as popular now or in the future as he could have been had he stuck behind his hometown team and led them to the promised land. Good luck being stuck in Miami (oh yeah, look there's Rony Seikaly's jersey in the rafters and our one championship banner) with nine minimum salary veterans while D-Wade's body slowly starts breaking down from the daily punishment and Chris Bosh blankly stares at the penetrating guards while "defending" and "blocking".

It's nice that they all wanted to play together, but you never saw that from the greatest players ever. Would Michael, Larry, Magic, Isiah, or Wilt have wanted to team up with each other for an All-Star franchise? Or would they rather battle each other and come out as a true victor to stake their claim on being the greatest ever?

Lame, really lame.
