I mean, c'mon, a whole hour-long special?

I think this is taking attention-whoring and ego to a new level, even for sports stars.

At least it's pretty obvious that he's going to stay in Cleveland, since I really can't imagine that he does his one-hour special to get to the end, on live tv, to say anything other than "and I'm going to stay loyal to my hometown, to the Cleveland Cavalier organization and its fans, and I've always respected new Head Coach Byron Scott, and I absolutely believe that we're going to win a title right here in Cleveland."

Would be a little cruel to announce on national tv that he's going to dump the home team to go team up with Bosh and Wade in Miami or go to Chicago. Gotta be Cleveland, no doubt now.

But seriously, the ego, what is this, a national signing day special? Should be fun to watch Cleveland get its ass kicked by Boston, Orlando, and Miami next year.

[/rant, sorry]

I think it's because he's sick of getting beat by Boston, Miami, and Orlando that he will join D-Wade and Bosh in Miami. I think he's exhausted all his resources in Cleavland and realizes he can't win there.

I dont think he want to go to Miami because if he does, it is still going to be Dwayne Wade's team, and I don't think Lebrons ego could handle that.

I pray that Lebron comes to Chicago, but I have a gut feeling he will resign with Cleveland. At least thursday night we will finally know his decision so we could finally end all this free agency hype and bullshit. If the Bulls don't land Lebron, Carlos Boozer it is (I hope).

Hey, he says he could play tight end in the NFL, so why not show some chops and play a real sport, I like it!

For real though, everyone knows that Esteban Ocho Cinco is the only U.S. team sports athlete capable of that feat. He's the Most Interesting Footballer in the World (don't forget he called himself that after the game in that clip, I still love that).

I had no idea he did that. That's pretty awesome.

Is he going to go through with chancing it from Ocho Cinco to Hachi Go?

Dragging it out for the fun of it. C'mon it's like being in High School again and having everyone salivate about recruiting you.

He's gotta be staying in Cleveland. To schedule a news conference, with donations set up for Boys and Girls Clubs, would be the worst way to break news that you're leaving your hometown and the only city you've ever played any type of organized ball.

Now that the Bulls have Boozer, Lebron should sign with Chicago.

Lakers

/thread

He would never ride Kobe's coattails. Kobe has 5. Lebron has none. He will not be compared to another player on his own team and seen as inferior. I think Lebron wants to win a championship, but not THAT badly that he will compromise his ego to that degree.

actually bosh put lakers as his first choice.. it's the closet guaranteed for a championship in the league, cause i think kobe may have a few year left in him, i think Phil Jackson/ fisher is stay for the ride to increase their ring total, the lakers are pretty much on auto pilot... and Adam Morrison seat is up for grabs:lol:

How does one go about being retarded and gay? At what point is communication valid from the retarded person to ask another gay man for a mouth full of penis?

He also has the twitter name "King James" and listed as the "King of Akron".

What a fucking douche, how about you win a championship and let the fans crown you with that title.

In other news, Kevin Durant signed a 5 year extension and no one mentioned it. The Thunder are brewing a championship caliber team over there.

It was the media that invented the nickname. You've heard of the King James Bible, right? Well, that's were LeBron's nickname came from...

If any of his nicknames were invented by himself I'd say it's probably 'The Chosen One'.

Bosh being the #2 guy in LA wouldn't have mattered.

Lebron, who is frequently cited by many as 'the best player in the game today' going to LA and settling for being #2 to Kobe...no way.

From FB this morning:"This is the first time I've seen ESPN hold the entire nation hostage for a whole day. Even bank robbers and some terrorists aren't this successful."

Really, though, how much of a mindfuck would it be if he went to New Jersey or the Clippers?

I don't think it'd be good for the league, but personally I'd LOVE it.

Yea, ESPN.com is citing "sources" saying he's headed to Miami. Guess we'll find out for sure tonight.

Yeah, lots of reports from "sources" that he's going to Miami.

Nuh-uh. That makes no sense, schedule a big huge one-hour show to announce this, and then have member of of your own crew leak the news.

Nope, here's an article on CNN.SI that states pretty much exactly why I still say he's staying with Cleveland.

But yeah, we'll find out tonight.

And I still will be forever anti-Lebron due to this garbage. Look at a guy like Kevin Durant, who goes about his business like a pro without an ego that could block out the sun and just signs a contract extension with his team (yep, probably got missed by a lot of people, even) without having a show of his own.

Was not missed in DC. Widely seen a huge loss that we couldn't bring him back to the area.

I'm going to miss this guy more than anyone else on Cleveland's roster:

(I'm still of the opinion that something funky was going on underneath his podium...)

This entire day is just one giant "jump the shark" moment (for ESPN, LeBron, and all the franchises that enabled and sold their self-respect for a whiff of attention) stretched out into enough material to cover the Great Wall of China. Where do you begin?
