Ok, dudes let's do this and put SOCAL back on the map in these gatherings. Let's set a date of when we want to do this. It obviously has to be a Saturday. Let's do this anywhere from the Middle of July or after which gives us/me one month to prepare. July 17 is a Saturday so let's pick dates starting from then on. I'll send pms to those who showed interest. It is of course open to anybody in the area who wants to make it. Just post here and give your input.
Most of my systems are in boxes in my closet as I don't want them to be all out and messy and if I feel like playing I just take the one that I want to play out. Anyway the XBOX 360 and Wii will be ready and playable for sure as they are not in unmarked boxes in my closet. I just have one arcade stick for each of them so if anybody can bring another stick for each system it would be much appreciated. I don't have a PS3 so if there is any interest in that someone will have to volunteer to bring it. I will also have my two AES systems ready and set and my AES collection which are in boxes will be readily available also.
As for other systems, I don't know what others are interested in. If there is any interest in other systems than the ones mentioned above let me know. I have a "Loaded" XBOX, a PS2 with the network adaptor and 23/24 games in the hard drive. I just brought those two up but I have MANY, MANY more systems available. Again I won't take them all out unless people really want to play them. I also have a Hyper 64 and Consolized Atomiswave. Is there any interest in those? Again let me know!!
There is an Samsung 50" Plasma mounted to the wall and three other smaller TVs that we can use for a total of four. If anyone wants to bring another TV or two be my guest.
I have 3 cabs that I mentioned before. One currently is not working. It was working when I got it from the seller, but when we transported it to my place it wasn't working anymore although it still powers on. From what I've gathered from people whom I've asked it seems like something may have gotten knocked loose during the transport like the power switch or something. If anyone is knowledgeable about this I would appreciate it if you could check it out. Preferably some day before the gathering. I would really appreciate it!!!!!! In this way we will have three working cabs for the gathering. Again the other 2 are working and I have a 2 slot and some other various PCB beat em ups like Final Fight and Battletoads. Oh and if someone could bring another MVS board that would be great. Don't care if it's a 1, 2, or 4 slot.
As for food I will leave that up to you. Do people just want to bring food and let it be potluck or maybe everybody contributes $5 each for pizza to have it delivered or do you guys just want to fend for yourselves when it comes to food? It's up to you.
We can start this in the morning say at 10 am and go on into the night or even early morning if people are willing to stay that long. I just want us to keep the noise to a reasonable level as I live in a Condominium compound, and I don't want to be the topic of discussion at the next HOA meeting. There is also a security guard that walks around the compound at night, and I don't want him knocking on our door telling us to keep the noise down. It doesn't have to be absolute silence. The noise just has to be at a reasonable level. I just want to be clear I will NOT be throwing people out at a certain time. If you guys want to stay and keep playing it's up to you.
I would also appreciate it if someone could bring a camcorder and a digital camera so we can have vids and as many pics as we can of this gathering. I can take vids and pics on my cellphone, but would like someone else to bring a camera and camcorder as well so we can have some rad pics and vids of the gathering
So let's get this thread rolling so we can have ideas and get this thing organized!!! And we know what we're going to be playing and more importantly who's bringing what so that we don't have 5 of the same thing. Hope to hear from you.
