Perhaps this is why they never bothered to port VF5:R to consoles. Hopefully Sega isn't dumb enough to completely ignore their fanbase with this one too.

PS. If you don't have the interest/patience/skill to enjoy VF then please, stay out of this thread. Your input on why VF sucks is not wanted or needed. I know this will be completely ignored but I thought I'd try.

I like VF but that is one of the worst promotional trailers I have ever seen.

That trailer doesn't show anything new. I don't even think the costumes are new. Is this even legit?

Well if this is the final revision than this is what we want ported. I think all they've added are some new costumes, I can't see any animation changes in that trailer but we'll have to wait and see.

Considering all we've got on console at the moment is 5 any new port will suffice.

I think they might have some sort of new countering system maybe? Cause I don't remember see that counter move Jackie was doing in that trailer in Virtua fighter 5 R.

Up till about 2 hours ago I'd of ignored your note and flamed this series.

However, for the last hour me and my g/f have been playing 2 on the Saturn, but we were taking it seriously and had move/combo list printed out.

I gotta admit, that game is awesome. It's been sitting on shelf collecting dust since forever and never realized just how great it is.

VF2 is the shit.. sega were amazing in the 90's. Nebula's Model 2 emulator now has that game playable, was running it to my HDTV upscaled to 800x600, sort of crazy to think a game like that was made so long ago looking the way it does. Too bad that companies can't really afford to invest money like that in making hardware that's lightyears ahead of home consoles anymore.

Hopefully the backgrounds get some small touch ups and stuff, I think VF5 is beautiful and all. But tekken6 really brought some flash to the presentation that will reflect negatively on VF5 final showdown or R if they get ported. None of us fighter players will care but reviewers and potential new players will if it comes out looking worse than tekken6 graphically.

You should try to get a hold of VF4: Evolution on the PS2. Its a really great game and it has a pretty in depth tutorial mode. It was only 20 bucks when it came out to begin with so I'm sure you could get it dirt cheap now.

This is pretty much what I expected, but there are a few people here I know would give a shit about a new VF game so I thought I'd post it anyway.

Theres not a lot to get hyped about until Sega announces a home port and theres no telling if that will actually happen. Sega seems to enjoy keeping VF in obscurity everywhere but Japan and even there Tekken is more popular these days.
