A good history of Shmups here by a French gaming company. Starts off from 1978 upto about the time when Ibara was in development. English Subbed. Also shows a tour of Cave and interviews.

I ran across this a few weeks ago. Great information and an inside look at a few of the modern developers.

Sweet. I saw this when it was just in French and had no idea somebody subbed it. Thanks much for the link, I'll be watching this one!

Yeah, watched it a couple of weeks ago. An excellent documentary, no doubt about it.

To see that dude playing Ketsui(?) on his mate's cab and just sitting there blathering away while doing so was pretty hardcore.

Just wondering is this the same French company!, that did the Metal slug documentary which came out a few years ago.

By the way thanks for this! Can't wait to watch it!

When this came out a long time ago, there was a torrent with english subtitles. Worthwhile download to get a good documentary in higher vid quality.
