In my honest opinion, they'd just have to make a new system that borrows a little bit from both. However the biggest problem is that damn Guard button. Tekken characters could prosper with it and without it, however VF characters can't be played properly without a guard button. Man just the thought of that game makes my head hurt.
It's crazy that 2 series have soooo much in common and so much that separates them.
Both fighters for the most part have exactly the same features, but are executed differently. The Guard button can easily be omitted.
I think the hardest thing in VF is the (Open Stance) and (Closed Stance) features. Mostly applied to juggles. They have no significance in the Tekken universe. Similarly off-axis juggle starters (a juggle started on an opponents side or back) have no significance in the VF universe.
A lot of the balance seen in Tekken these days as in 5 and onwards were ideas taken from VF. So it's not surprising that some VF players would look down on Tekken.
