I need to hurry and own this game. I can't keep going around to Fry's and my friends house playing this in practice mode. I'm so into getting these combos right but it's so damn difficult when you don't own it. That and some of the characters are hard to get down.

Example for Alisa:

:upf: 4 4, WS 1 2, :forw: 1, :forw: 2 3 3

This is combo number 2 in the video.

It took me about 30 minutes just to get the first combo but muscle memory is a bitch with her second one.

If you guys are like me and want decent items quickly even if its a frustrating affair, beat scenario then go to either "Nightmare Train" or "Kigan Island" on Hard setting. You will get your ass handed to you a lot playing a toon that has 0 items, but every 3rd item you do attain will be very helpful. Then when you get the costume pieces you wanted start on another guy. I have wracked up a enormous amount of items in a short time this way. Just make sure Alisa has something that increases item drops by 90% or so.

Want to give online a try vs someone close to home to see if lag is any better. Anyone happen to be in or near the Dallas area with the game on PS3?

Training mode. I suggest someone sort of simplistic like Paul, Bryan or Nina to get the feel of things.

Scenario mode is going to fall under the "so bad it's good" category. The storyline is hilariously awful.

Yeah, they could have gone the Soulcalibur PSP way and made it intentionally hilarious.

Any tips on beating the Jin stage in Scenario Campaign? I'm stuck.

Spin: Nightmare train is a pain in the ass, but wait until you play the Kigan Island stage. I had to seriously luck out on both of them.

Yeah, Kigen wasn't hard for me either. I think it took 3 attempts, but Nightmare Train is fucking ridiculous. I have gotten DJ to come down many times, but Alisa is always dead when I do and I get overwhelmed. It would be a lot easier if he came down in the middle of the train so I could position to ring him out, but by the time he gets to me I am surrounded and can't get a move off.

I gotta say...this game just makes me fucking giddy. The character models are ridiculously awesome-looking, probably the nicest ones that have yet appeared in a 3D fighter, some of the backgrounds are pretty damned amazing, and there really is a lot to do...I can see why the game took so long to come out considering when the original arcade T6 came out. Yes, the scenario mode camera/control is a bit wonky, but you just have to wrap your head around not playing it like the actual fighting game...just spam shit to wipe them out.

Haven't felt this way about Tekken since T3.

BTW, I just wanted to say for the record why I never understood the beef between Tekkenheads and VF peeps. They are such different games with such differing philosophies about their characters' style, stories, and gameplay. Tekken was always the speedy, easy-to-pick-up but difficult-to-master martial arts movie fighter, while VF is essentially like the Gran Turismo of fighting games, and much more of a martial arts simulator with a much steeper learning curve. There's a hell of a lot to love about both series, and they are both basically unrivaled in the realm of 3D fighters.

I asked myself this question for a while but it all boils down to EGO. People tend to talk up whatever is their favorite. So pretty much it's always been "mine is better than yours". Virtua Fighter fans have also always been sour because the series didn't take off like it should have despite it being hands down (gameplay wise) the best fighting game EVER.

However lately that rivalry is really going down away. A lot of People at Tekken Zaibatsu are Virtua Fighter players and at Virtua Fighter.com a lot of the people there have gotten fed up with AM2's way of releasing games and have picked up Tekken, especially since Tekken 6 is such a solid game. So if you go to both sites you'll see a lot of mutual usernames to include your's truly.

Right now there is like a 20 something page thread on Tekken 6 at VF.com and suprisingly out of those 20 something pages there might be 15 anti Tekken comments the rest are just general posts about tekken, like strats and moves and stuff. They also pretty much tried to squash all of the bad talk about Tekken as well.

I wish people would just play fighting games and stop with the elitist attitude. I'm sure they'd have a lot more fun. I'm glad that the Tekken and VF Rivalry is dying a quick death now, so maybe that'll soften things up for a possible crossover series, that the producer of Tekken was talking about he wanted to do

We should all just be like Ryan Hart. Top player in EVERYTHING.

Virtua Fighter
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhxvLyxZpCY

Tekken
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZgb-6FfrLE

Street Fighter (repeat of Daigo vs Justin)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xhyCJqFaRU

KOF
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOJK6wyXX6E

This guy fucking plays him some fighting games. He either wins or makes it to the finals for EVERYTHING. He doesn't worry about 2d vs 3d, Capcom vs SNK, Virtua Fighter vs Tekken, HE JUST PLAYS.

You know...that would be an amazing thing...but hot damn it would pose some enormous questions. Whose system gets used? Which characters make the cut? Obviously Tekken's roster is enormous and there's no way they could all get in.

The gameplay would obviously be the $64,000 question. If you create a brand new system that is a hybrid of the two, you risk pissing off ALL the fans. If you had T and VF 'grooves', that seems like it would be a really complex thing to reconcile. Re-engineering Tekken characters with VF-style movelists seems like it would be a massive pain in the ass, and vice versa. You'd probably have to pair it down to like 10 characters per side for it to even be feasible at first.

I'd love to see them side by side in the same game, just because it seems like a crossover that people have sometimes thought about for a really long time, but I certainly don't envy the task before that development team. They'd have to beg Yu Suzuki to come out of retirement to help out.

You're right. That's the question we've all been asking for years. HOW COULD YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN! That's a task and a half. I think after Peace in the Middle east is Tekken vs Virtua Fighter.

In my honest opinion, they'd just have to make a new system that borrows a little bit from both. However the biggest problem is that damn Guard button. Tekken characters could prosper with it and without it, however VF characters can't be played properly without a guard button. Man just the thought of that game makes my head hurt.

It's crazy that 2 series have soooo much in common and so much that separates them.

what I did was spammed df+4 with lars for all four waves because they don't block it. I HIGHLY recommend having these stat equipped:

HP +310 +
Def +8 +
Atk +90 +
HP REGEN +10
Fire Dmg +68

for Alisa

HP +310 +
Def +8 +
Atk +77
Fire Dmg + 69
Shock +26%

when you get to Devil Jin, GRAB THE MACHINE GUN and ring the fucker out.

edit [a]: As far as the whole VF vs Tek ordeal, as far as my opinion goes, I've never liked Virtua Fighter. I'm not going to say it's an awful game, but the learning curve on those is something god awful. If you don't know the game, when you go to play, the characters are going to move like slugs. I'm sure if I took the time to actually learn it, I'd throughly enjoy it, but I'm willing to admit I'm a tekken fag and too lazy to.

Allright, what items should I equip for that? Mind you, I'm in Jin's stage, not Devil Jin's stage.

I'll check what actual gear I've got when I get home. For Jin's stage, probably +4 or +6 stuff will do. The gear makes a HUGE difference.

I love Tekken. I love Virtua Fighter. I honestly do not know how the two could mix well together.
