Japanese system / UK Voltage

I couldn't see anywhere that could give me a clear answer on this. I have a Japanese Neo-Geo that I need to use on UK power.

- Back of the system:
RATING: 8w
USE PRO POW

- And on the japanese plug I got with it:
AC100V 50/60Hz 38VA
DC5V 3A

Can I just use a generic power multi-purpose power adapter or do I need to get a step down?

Thanks

Yes you can use a multi purpose power adapter but you must make sure its 5V and will deliver 3A and also the correct polarity.

Don't use a multipurpose one since they are usually underpowered. Just get a +5v@3A with negative tip polarity.

Thanks for the replies so far :) Where would I get one of these plugs then? I have had a look around and there are so many on so many sites - none which really mention the other end of the plug either.

Does anyone have a link to one I could purchase cheaply in the UK - would really appreciate it, thanks!

Thanks, but shouldn't the output be 3A? This is where I am confused on the power needs.

If you want to go at 70mph

A. Use a scooter max speed at 30mph
B. Use Bugatti Veyron max speed at 230mph

yeah the output current must be *atleast* 3A, it can be much higher it doesn't matter. AES only pulls what it needs. it's the voltage that has to be within a certain range. too high and you'll fry something.
