Time to count frames and jaggies.

Long DL times though. Either it is very popular or the typhoon is badly affecting comms.

Seems decent, but rather scripted. Witch Time could be a bit too powerful too.

Apart from some screen tearing when moving the camera I didn't notice anything else. Anyone else?

Wow, thanks for the heads up. Gonna go DL this momentarily.

I was a bit underwhelmed by NG Sigma 2, so hopefully this'll scratch that itch.

It's all right. A little flashy, and yeah, the textures do look a little on the muddy side, but decent fun. The control isn't as tight as any DMC installment (maybe a little bit looser than DMC2). I'll be curious to see how the 360 version is better, if internet news is to be believed.

Definitely doesn't inspire me to want to plunk down $60, though.

Just got back from checking this out, and man, I thought it was great! It definitely has a different feel than most action games of its type. The voice acting was cheesy, and the story seems silly, but I really had a good time playing it. And the over-the-top way you kill those bosses is very cool indeed.

If there weren't so many games I'm gonna get coming out this fall, I'd think about getting this at full price, but as it stands, it'll have to wait until the late winter at least. But I think it was pretty solid.

(And I thought the 360 version was supposed to be inferior? Or did I mix the two up?)

Either way, I liked this a lot more than the Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 demo, for what it's worth.

I'm certainly not sold.

Tekken 6 comes out on the same day, and that looks like a very polished package.

Ratchet and Clank is a day 1 game for me too, so I may end up passing on this.

Framerate looked solid to me, but I'd prolly go w/ the 360 version anyway

I haven't gone on PSN for a long time because I heard the new firmware bricks white Dual Shocks. Is this still true? If not, I'm downloading this asap.

That was the 3.00 update, I think. It was the one that caused problems with Uncharted. That's been fixed, however. I'd be sure to check first, at any rate.

You did. It was developed on the 360, and Sega converted it to PS3.

Ah, I thought so. Well in that case, it was better than it'd been made out to be, I thought.

Either way it was a very enjoyable game. I think I'm definitely gonna pick this one up sooner or later (probably later, but hey).

$30 purchase, for me. I can't understand how you could be blah about Sigma 2 and be gung-ho for this.

I can see why Sigma 2 is respected, but the bullshit camera really put a damper on any enjoyment for me. The game just felt archaic and hard to contend with. I don't want to fight the game, I want to fight with the game, if that makes any sense.

EDIT: One more thing... In Sigma 2, whose idea was it to make the enemies the same colour as the main character? That's just a bonehead move, no matter how you slice it.

I'm used to it, I guess. It's better than it was in NG2, if that makes a difference. One thing I hated in Bayonetta was that the combos just felt loose. I'd look at the combo list in the tutorial and they seemed more like suggestions than a set of instructions. Sometimes they'd work and sometimes not. Whereas with the Ninja Gaiden games, I've gotten spoiled on the absolutely instantaneous response times.

Yeah, I thought it felt a bit loose, and I couldn't pull off a single one of the spinning piledriver type moves.

Was alright, should have been prettier and ran smoother. Another game to pick up when cheap and i'm bored.

Hmm... I wouldn't say I thought it was loose, and I didn't have any trouble executing any moves.

Now, that said, I'm just coming off playing The Force Unleashed, so pretty much anything will look good compared to that pile of shit. I'm an idiot for suffering through that entire game... :emb:

Good thing it got pushed back to January 2010 in North America. Sega doesn't want Modern Warfare 2 to take away it's sales.

Oh, I thought it was still on schedule. Well, I might pick it up when it comes out, then, but I was actually thinking of taking the plunge and buying a Wii early next year, now that the price has finally come down. Stuff like MadWorld and Punch Out look like they're actually worth my time, and I don't wanna miss out.

I played the 360 version at the New York Anime Fest and the biggest thing I heard was, "Is this the new Devil May Cry?" :oh_no:

I thought it was a lot of fun. Hopefully the demo hits live so I can play it again. She's got a lot of cool moves and I can't wait to see how crazy they'll get during the course of the game. Being able to turn her hair/costume into a giant monster and eating bosses is pretty damn awesome.

Yeah, I really liked the goofy hair mechanic.

It got me to thinking, actually. I thought the boob jiggle in Sigma 2 was a bit on the juvenile side, but I thought the naked Bayonetta hair thing is kind of cheeky and cool. Am I nuts, or does anyone agree? (Maybe it's the glasses.)
