Someone needs to change his avatar to something appropriate (or rather inappropriate) then lock it. :lolz:

Of course Microsoft is spending most of their time trying to fix it as best they can before releasing it. What company doesn't want to make a product the best it can be before releasing it?
Many companies in the age of downloadable content. :p

Kill yourself.

Seriously, though, does it not blow your mind that what you consider proper grammar today was not proper grammar in the past, and won't be proper grammar in the future? That laguage changes? That the purpose of language is to comminucate? That it makes the effort for confirmity trivial?

(Truly, not being a dick here - just pondering your thoughts because I know it's something you've thought about).

Gah... who was the philosopher that stopped correcting his spelling and grammar errors as he got older because it wasted the time he could spend conveying new ideas?

Language evolves. Evolution takes a very long time. It need not mutate into a bastardized version of itself. Untenable mutations (such as a leucistic alligator) die off, and only survive as individuals by the continual and willful intervention of man.

I don't care about being called a "Grammar Nazi" (though I do find it amusing). The quality of one's thoughts can only be conveyed as well as one's speech allows. The laissez-faire attitude that people seem to have developed, particularly since the advent of the internet, is ultimately toxic. Developing a solid command of one's language is never a bad thing.

Edit: Oh, and I was perfectly serious. I can offer up a colorful variety of methods for him to consider.

I understand. However, I believe most people have always had a laissez-faire attitude towards language, but we didn't communicate enough to have the evidence.

I also believe the evolution is rapid. At least, it has been rapid (even over the past 200 years).

Dammit I stand corrected, I thought he had at least been locked in the warroom.

His last activity was 2:28pm, so he hasn't seen the name change yet!

And Kan is his only friend:help::help::help:

Kill yourself.

No really, your life is just coming onto these message boards and correcting peoples grammar. Im very proud of your translation for Ys for the Pc, I beat it and am halfway through part 2.

Why don't you teach English as a second langauge at comunity schools?
Or you could help out my dad. He's a smart guy, a DR and graduated from Johns Hopkins...cant read a word he says. Nowdays he uses email, and I still can't make out a thing he says. Sure youd like him he looks like a mix between Howard Stern and Momar Khadafi.

I know, best yet get a job working for Falcom.

Im not telling you to kill yourself, I bet you there's somthing out there for you.

I agree that evolution of language is pretty much the nature of the beast, but you're way off here. English hasn't really changed that much in the last 200 years at all. Compared to its ridiculously rapid change in days of yore (you literally wouldn't be able to understand Old English, it's like German), the last 200 years are nothing.

These days, a lot of words are being dropped from the vocabulary and replaced with stuff like 'frenemy'. I don't find that sort of thing as alarming as Deuce does, it seems, but I agree that the degradation of language is probably not the best thing in the world.

Still, you need to evolve or die. French remains stagnant, and it'll probably become a dead language eventually because of it.
