Why the change? I thought you loved that GTO.

It had quite a few issues for being a '04 with 12,xxx miles on it, the final straw was the leaking rear main seal.

On top of that I really needed a 4-door as hauling my daughter around in that thing was a pain in the ass...

The MS3 is a good little car, not perfect but good enough for now.

Rear main seal leaked becasue it sat most of its life and dried up then got put to use again and BAM! leakage. Sucks i could not be there to help you could have dropped the trans and changed it in a afternoon.

It was driven routinely...just not for long distances...that rear main seal was one of MANY problems that car had...it was the straw that broke the camel's back...it was a piece of shit.

I realize this is a car thread but I'm more interested in the (2) GT BMX bikes ontop of your car, didn't realize we had more BMXers on the NG.COM site, save Kernow, myself and I believe two others. What year are those GTs? I'm wanting to say mid 80s from the looks of it but I could be wrong. I personally ride around on a customized (SCOPEDOG ATM-09-RSC) 2008 GT Fueler these days, but 80s wise I was always more of a Mongoose rider, and had like (1) Kuwahara Magician before it was stolen and then reclaimed horrible painted blue. :(

Never seen a short lower tube like that before. Some kind of Flatland Freestyle frame?

You got a good eye.

1987 GT Pro Performer. 99.9% complete(missing the mallet stem). I've had this bike since 1991. I've only wiped out on it maybe twice. I am super careful when I ride it.

The other is a 2001 GT Fly. I also have a 1981 Mongoose Supergoose and an 86 FS1 in storage. The mongoose bikes were my beaters, but they still look pretty darn good for their age.

I can't do what I used to do thanks to some knee injuries, but I still ride quite a bit and stick to ramps instead of flatland trickery.

I started in BMX back when I had a Team Murray X20R. I rode that bike til the wheels fell off..literally. Then I moved onto freestyle and flatland up until 1993.

After I graduated I moved onto cars as a primary hobby, and I think you can guess which type of car too :loco:

I bought the 89 Honda Wagon to fit both my bikes and my family comfortably. The bike rack looked like crap on my CRX and on my hatchback Civic.

You should start a BMX thread :)

Interesting history you have there.

I started off merely a rider on a DiamondBack (chrome) in 1984, then had me some Montgomery Wards bike called "Open Road", then got the Kuwahara Magician ('87 model) for Xmas 1988, but some so-called friends (dudes about 4 years older than my age 10) stole the bike right from under the front porch. The idiots had mentioned they were going to get a blue Kuwahara from a friend about a week before the theft, but my father just matched the serial numbers and we got the bike back. But they crapped that KM by spray bombing it a nasty blue. Best friend (still is of 22 years, now on Boise Police Department) ended up with that bike because he didn't care if it was blue, he didn't like his banana seat supermarket bike.

...then I got some okay looking Huffy. Always was jonesing for an '84 Mongoose Californian *Expert* (like the one Bill Allen rode in RAD, as authenticated by none other than Eddie Fiola himself, who rode for Allen on OS-BMX.COM to me via PM), but I never knew what the bike was because it was de stickered. Rode mostly flatland freestyle and what we called SGPX (Street Grand Prix) races back then, then around 1989 I took up skateboarding and BMX was dormat for like 18 1/2 years.

Flashfoward to July 2008 and I purchased a Mike Poulsen white Schwinn Sting off of eBAY, then after Fiola LMK what bike it was Bill Allen was riding, I went about looking for that '84 Mongoose and ended up with an '83, which was good enough for me. Thing is, I'm like 235lbs these days and those old 80s frames aren't handling that, along with it's 1-piece cranks, which led me to purchasing that 2008 GT Fueler.

I SHOULD START A BMX THREAD, maybe I will. :smirk:
