I'm sure it's exactly what you get when you put the MVS cart in home mode. It's not like they reprogram the game itself or anything.
Im sure youre right. Ive never put an MVS cart in home mode. Never knew you could.... (ive never seen anything like it on either of my MVS machines....)

Back to my question, does the home conversion have a limit on credits or its it Free Play??

You need a Unibios installed on your MVS, or an MVS converter to play MVS carts on your home system.

Well, I have Strikers # 2 from the Neo Store run, and it actually shows "Freeplay" at the bottom of the screen when run in AES mode...

While we're on the subject of the Neo Store Strikers run, were all of them sold with soft cases? Just curious...

I just pulled it out and had a proper go at it for the MVS, ive never really done anything other than test it before. Its pretty good, bloody hard, crazy amount of bullets, amazing that it holds speed with no slow down!!!

Yeah really. How in the hell did they make a curtain shooter with almost no slowdown on Neo Geo? Is there a special chip in there or something? What's the problem with all the other games?

It's mostly programming. Some of the Neo games have weird refresh rate when it comes to game logic and graphic events. Some cycle at 2 updates per refresh and some only do 1 per refresh. Take for example MS2, the reason why there is so much slowdown is because the game logic has 2 updates per cycle while the graphics events are only 1 per cycle. So the whole time it's telling the Neo to spit out certain graphics twice and the Neo is trying to catch up. Overclocking makes a small difference but not anything drastic.

Later Slug games like X, 3, 4 and 5 will show little to no difference if overclocked at 16mhz because the programming is optimal.
