You might be a sociopath. You ever harm small animals as a child?

Ummm no.

Sociopaths are overly emotional, selfish, lie etc. Kinda like a selfish women, only to the extreme. But above all, they are manipulative which takes back thought. He said straight he gets to the point. Sociopaths are never direct unless it means they can obtain something by lying. Not to mention he generally seems to care.

Ummm no.

Sociopaths are overly emotional.

Hmm

Most times when people say sociopath they are incorrectly labeling people with Antisocial Personality Disorder as 'sociopaths'.

It was my understanding that ASPD made it so people have little to no ability to relate to emotions of other people and do not show any concern for the consequences of their actions in other people's lives. I watched a video in psych class of a dude in prison explaining how he used to beat the shit out of people for no good reason. With him it was hard to see anything I would call overly emotional.

But your post made me think about Jeffery Dahmer and it actually makes sense how he could have been overly emotional since he formed intense attachments with his victims and could not stand them leaving him alone.

The first step towards realizing your true emotional potential is to experience extreme amounts of pain. I recommend rolling around bare flesh on top of broken glass. If it worked for Iggy Pop, it can work for you.

Maybe I need to hang out in other forums or something, but is it me, or do we get the weirdest fuckin noobs of all time around here? Crazy.

At least this thread got GregN. to embarrass himself though. That was kind of funny.

Also, people that answered this guy seriously (Kan, I'm looking at you): what are you even doing? Seriously.

ASPD can really go both ways, depending on the individual of course. They can ether get way to comfortable with their actions or not understand them at all. There is one general consistency with both types though, they both act on what they are feeling in regards to how they fit into the world and with the people around them. In terms of the guy who beats the crap out of people for no reason (falls on the logical side of personality development), this is his way of connecting with the world quite simply by force, and GAINING STIMULI at the same time which is the goal of evolution.(stimuli being the dynamic variable here as it can always be pushed upwards). On the flip side of the coin is the emotional side of personality development, manipulation is used, often with tons of charm and the manipulation is what gets him off, the aspect of control. ASPD can reside on both the logical and emotional sides of personality development, the key to both sides of development is how they gain stimuli in a sick and twisted way. Also both deal with fantasy/domination of some sort which is the underlying key cause, probably relating to something in their childhood.

Im going to pull an exert of something that I wrote as it applies to this directly.

Our current DSM is based on objective observation, or what is known as the symptom, this is incorrect as it should reflect the variables in which abnormal psychology functions, a subjective view must be applied to identify the fundamental factors leading up to the disorder, only then will we be able to accurately differentiate between them and make the connections needed to link what lies beyond what we can see to our objective observations. This would give a more accurate view of the whole picture, and give insight into what exactly causes it.

You may want to change that picture to discourage me from hotlinking to photos like this in your photobucket:

I don't know, I'm half-tempted to actually go to the trouble of saving it and using it for when things are really stupid, like, beyond comprehension.

You know- can't explain something? Too stupid for words? No real answer?....:

Do you even know what DSM stands for? Why would you suggest that you can apply statistical analysis to a subjective quantity?

I believe the behaviors of a sociopath are 100% natural to a human and are removed by society and good parenting.

It's pure self-preservation at it's most raw form.

Telling yourself that sounds like a defense mechanism.
