I don't really find this to be humorous.

Unless there is something I just don't get.

It would have worked better if the subtitle was New Age of Champions.

The whole 'breakfast of champions' thing and all.

One would assume the subtitle would be the punchline, but "New Age of Breakfast?"

That isn't funny.

The 360 version of MvC2 is a ripoff... I had more fun with the dreamcast version where you have to earn points by fighting to unlock stuff. The Xbox 360 version is just a straight port of the arcade version. There's no reason to play this game in single player AT ALL.

Goddammit.

I thought certain characters were unlocked in the arcade version based on how long the game had been on/how many matches were played?

Or something like that.

Maybe you're right, but I like the dreamcast way of unlocking things better.

Earning points > # of matches

Makes you feel like you're achieving something.

But I do know that the beginning roster on the home ports starts way smaller than in the arcade version as well as the Xbox 360 version.

No, having owned the arcade version, I tell you that's wrong. When you first get that, it's tiny as well. Over the time of playing it, you get more and more characters.... Thankfully, there's a code to just unlock them all.

I dunno, the AI on this is far better than several of the other fighters that have come out lately, IMO.

I mean, really, play through this to earn the achievement for beating the game with Avengers, and then go back to KOF XII. There's a huge difference.

And netcode is supposed to be quite solid, though I haven't checked it out yet since I feel pretty damn compelled to shake off the 10 years of rust I've built up since the DC version days.

Who the fuck wants to unlock characters?! Fuck that man! I wanna play the game fully loaded right away online! I spent too much time unlocking those fuckers for 3 consoles (fuck the naomi!), I openly welcome the change.

I've yet to play the arcade mode. This game is meant to be played online, or at least against other people. Playing these kind of games alone kind of sucks nowdays, back then it was acceptable but thankfully things have changed. I don't care what anyone says playing online does make you better, you just have to be patient and alert.

The only thing that is kind of wacky is that when this game is placed on 16:9 it suffers from graphic glitches, but is a small matter, the gameplay isn't affected at all and it's still as fun as it ever was.

I'm happy with this game and if anyone decides to man up and play online rather than fuss over the fact that they have no reason to play alone then let me know, my tag is electricgrave in both networks.

BTW, the kellog's thing was funny, it did the job.

Fucking sucks that TIT is a 360 exclusive...

On that subject, "exclusives" are really pretty fucking lame when you think about it. Outside of console developer titles (MS games on the 360, Sony games on the PS3)...what does a company really have to gain by alienating part of a gaming public? Having an exclusive title will rarely force one to buy an entire console to play it and even if they do, all the developer gets is a single sale from it...

Hrmph.....bitching about the price of bread I guess...

The arcade where I first played MvC2 never bothered to put the codes for the characters in and they unlocked through time and credits. It was cool, because my friend and I would go there every other week and there would always be a new character or two that would be unlocked.

The one producer of Tekken 6 said that unlocking characters is a dumb idea and in the home ports of T6 all of the characters are unlocked at the get go and all you really unlock is the costumes. This is great news for me because I suck at Tekken and I still haven't unlocked all of the characters in 5, hell I'm still missing a few in 3.

Seeing they dropped the price on Turtles in Time is really nice. I wasn't too upset with the price, considering there was never a proper home port of the game, but it sucks that the only way to play it is by using the new style. For the price that they wanted, they should at least have the option to play the old version in there too.
