Almost Famous

Haha, I was actually in Almost Famous (as an extra, I don't think you can see me but I made something like $400 over a week because I looked like someone from that era; the split special-look extras into rockers and hippies, I was a rocker).

Love and Basketball

I was in that movie too :p They were both filmed in the same summer... I just showed up in all my USC gear and got placed in the front row of games, I still don't know if I appeared (it would be a blurry freeze frame if anything, but I got paid --but not as much as Almost Famous where they had make-up, costume and smoke bonuses)

There are tons of movies that I love but I honestly can't say there are any I would never get tired of. I guess it depends on how often you watch them.

I guess if I had to say some though, Dawn of the Dead (1978) is probably my favorite movie ever made. I couldn't even begin to count how many times I've watch it and I could still sit down and watch it if the mood strikes. Not sure why I never get tired of it, just love it for some reason.

You could probably add Star Wars Ep. 4 and 5 (maybe 6, but not as much) but I am kind of tired of Star Wars in general. Still love the originals but I haven't had the urge to watch them in a while.

Oh yeah, I've seen Dumb and Dumber tons of times and still think its great.

I have a love/hate relationship with this movie.

I love the movie... but I hate the fact that the DVD is the only one I have ever failed to rip to my server. I dunno why but I simply cannot get it to rip.

That's cool bro. I always wanted to be an actor ever since my Uncle was in the Love Boat.

Here is my uncle, his name is Elias Jacob...he also played the original Luigi in the Atari Mario Brothers commercial which is the second link. He is the bald guy as one of the three couples on the Love Boat which is the first link:

Let the Right One In. Can't explain it, but I can, and have watched this movie over and over and over.
Yeah, I have, too. Rented it, watched it a bunch of times, and refused to put it in the mail so we could get our next rental until the copy I ordered from amazon immediately after watching it the first time arrived. My second favorite movie of the past decade, trailing only Brick (which I have not watched multiple times back to back).

Weirdly enough, I read the book three times through immediately as well, and I usually wait a year or two to revisit books I've enjoyed.

Still some pretty damn good stuff has been listed.

I'll add a few more

The Untouchables
The Green Mile
Platoon
Batman (Burton)
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

Rashomon
Cleopatra
Amelie
Amadeus

those, along with others mentioned like The Abyss and other long dramas are movies that I like but really don't feel right if I'm flipping channels and they're on -- I need to be in a certain state of mind to appreciate those flicks, I feel wrong if I catch them halfway through and try to watch the rest.

Also, I wish Cinemax and HBO would have a dedicated widescreen channel. They've got HD now and a ton of other useless channels but still no widescreen. this is irritating me

A film being something "I don't get tired of" is essentially my guiding criteria in deciding to actually buy a film:

Dirty Harry
Magnum Force
Duck, You Sucker!
Dollars Trilogy
Unforgiven
Predator
First Blood
Rocky

Probably missing a few, but that sums up some of my favorite films quite nicely.

really?
where were you in the movie?

I finally watched it after about 3 people told me I looked and talked
like the asian editor from rolling stone.
I don't see much resembalance, but it is one of my favorite movies.
it's definitely a movie for anyone that loves music.
