The fact that you don't fall in either camp is ignorant. Humanity has reached the moon, there's ample proof. Like Nes said, just because you don't get it doesn't mean it's not real. And for as why we haven't gone back... That shit is fucking expensive, and there's no political will to return. Yet.

Now, I never doubted that we went to the moon. Ever. But one day, years back, a friend of mine actually laughed when he thought that I thought that we did. His opinion that we didn't' opened my mind to the possibilities that he could be right. Ever since then, I don't know what to think. I think both sides have over whelming points proving their side.
If I had to lean one way or the other, I'd say we landed, just out of all the people it would take to pull off such a lie... but that's about the only reason.

Yes.
Apollo 12

Apollo 15
Apollo 16
Apollo 17
Unfortunately we have not been back to the moon since 1972 with the Apollo 17 mission. They managed to do a lot of work on all those missions though, and managed to leave a lot of stuff behind on the moon.
The lunar rover is still up their. It's my understanding that if we landed on the moon again all the astronauts should theoretically have to do is put a new battery in to get it up and going again.
The Apollo 11 flag was knocked down when the Eagle took off. They placed it too close to the Eagle so when the they ignited the rockets the exhaust caused it to fall over.
I believe they have footage of this.

The Soviet Union has also been to the moon...sort of. They sent up some lunar rovers [robots] similar to our mars rovers, of course this was decades ago. But still pretty neat.
I think there was a huge upset with one of their rovers though as England was able to intercept the data [images IIRC] before the good old CCCP was, lulz!

Yuri Gagarin - an extraordinary man until the end, he was killed years later after his famous journey in to space on a routine flight. A shame the Soviet Union essentially banned him from re-entering space, especially given his accidental death anyway.

Been meaning to read up on space exploration.
Personally find it more horrifying (the sheer vastness...) than interesting but when it comes to a subject such as the moon landing I certainly wouldn't mind learning more about it as I've kept my mouth shut on the validity of the landing due to a lack of information.
(This recent yearning for celestial information in no way coincides with my recent viewing of "Sunshine" which I adored.)

I'd have to completely disagree with you there.
Exploration is worth it, no matter what. I'd like to see a return to the moon. How are we ever going to land on Mars if the last time we landed on the Moon was 37 years ago? Landing on the moon should partially serve as training for landing on Mars, even though the conditions on Mars (atmosphere, etc) are fairly different.
I'd also like to see some kind of space station or other installation set up on the Moon.
I think it's an exceptional use of the taxpayer's dollars.
But I'd also like to see great collaboration between the US and other countries that have space programs, so that we can actually get something working.

One thing I'd love to do, though, is climb Mons Olympus on Mars...that sounds way too fun.

Also, @'Stage: Olympus Mons is a lot higher than any mountain on Earth (three times the height of Everest, almost 17 miles high). I doubt you'd make it.

That's the part that always gets me. That when humans landed on the Moon, there were people living who had been alive for the entire history of manned flight. With how quickly technology progressed from no flight at all to walking on the Moon, it's no wonder that people in the 1960s thought we'd have flying cars and whatnot by now.
And I want Moon colonies.

It will be interesting to see what happens when China tries to complete their moon landing by 2012 or when we try to return by 2015 as NASA has recently suggested. If we're not able to land safely, then the real conversation will start.
That is if we're all still alive after December 2012.

Depends. Sometimes they do two or three a year. Sometimes none. This year we only had 1 so far I believe.
The shuttle missions are running out though, only a handful left before they scrap the program.
