Because that's the only team in the league that is willing to let him start. Which is still stupid as hell since it will slow down Rudy Gay's progress horribly. I've also seen it suggested on SI.com that Iverson may have to head to Europe to play, ala Dominique Wilkins. Pathetic (for AI, I mean, not for 'Nique, since he was smart enough to accept a limited role a few years later back in the NBA).

I'm glad Denver re-signed Andersen. Deal is back-loaded and has lots of incentives, both of which make lots of sense given who it is. Now they need to re-up with Dahntay and Linas and try hard or try hard to grab Grant Hill.

I like Detroit's moves, but I don't think either of those guys is a game changer by any means. Especially funny that Gordon got the exact same deal (5 years, $55 million) that he originally turned down in Chicago.

Dallas waaaay overpaid for Kidd, he's too old, IMO. SI is crazy to think that this shows Cuban's commitment to winning.

McDyess to Spurs, good move. That team just keeps adding smart veterans that fit nicely into what they need. Not a huge piece, but he'll fit great, I think.

Hedo to Raptors, interesting. Weird, really- that team will still suck, and Bosh will still split.

Ariza to Rockets- WTF? McGrady sucks and is on his way out, Yao is out forever, Artest is out. Um, I guess he wants to be the second option behind a shoot-first point guard and ahead of a can't shoot swing man? Ugh. Everyone wanted him so he goes to a team that's going to crash and burn. Yeah.

Where the hell is Chandler going? He's obviously available. Dude can defend the basket like a motherfucker and he can throw it down if he's got a decent PG to get the rock to him anywhere near the basket. Kleiza for Chandler straight up in a sign and trade. Let's get it done, Warkentein (fuck this whole matching salaries bullshit, this is my NBA salary rulebook now).

It would seem that the Cavs are signing Channing Frye as well, which makes it a decent enough off-season for them. Anthony Parker isn't better than Delonte West, but he's at least as good a shooter and is taller. Signing Parker also allows West to be the 6th man, where he'll be valuable as a combo guard.

Suns buy out Ben Wallace's contract, re-sign Grant Hill and sign Channing Frye. Now they'll extend Steve Nash's contract and hopefully work something out with Amare Stoudermire.

Why would they make those moves? That roster didn't work before, didn't even make the playoffs, so why re-up with the same guys? I don't get that one.

Dahntay Jones went to Indy, so that means J.R. Smith will start at the 2 for Denver now. Lots of firepower in the starting lineup, little less off the bench, gonna be important for LK to step up and become the main guy for scoring punch with the second unit.

Denver got a good trade from Detroit. Afflalo is a very good player.

Edit: Also, Lamar Odom's contract offer from the Lakers has been taken off the table. Sounds like Odom could be elsewhere...

affalo is a good defender, lamar is a key piece in the lakers championship but in a way he is expendable, and can be replace with a cheaper swing man, either he take a pay cut or look for new team mates.

Agreed, I like the Afflalo deal, good way to add depth. Warkentein has turned out to be a really smart GM, makes it look like Kiki was overrated as hell.

I also agree that the Lakers were smart to say fuck you, Lamar. He's expendable. He'll be solid for someone else, but Pau is far more important that Odom is. I honestly don't see Odom as a $10 million per kind of guy, with his character and reliability issues, injury issues, I'd offer him $40 million for 5 years, max, maybe go $30 for three years, if he's desperate to hit $10 million per, but he'll never be anything better than a very streaky third option, so why pay him like anything more?

Memphis needed size pretty badly. I think they'll have a better team than most expect this upcoming season.

Now the Griz can have Z-Bo show off his amazing ball-handling and 3-point shooting!

Note the look on Zeke's face at the end!

Honestly, if Zach Randolph's contract wasn't so expensive he'd be a great fit on the Magic. His offense and rebounding is exactly what Orlando needs and his shooting ability would spread the floor as well. But once again, paying $16 mil a year for that just isn't possible for the Magic.

Amar'e Stoudemire would be a great fit on this team as well (instead). Plus he'd have a homecoming along with Vince Carter. (I wish we had done a S&T with Turkoglu for Amar'e).

And, um, his three-point shooting. He would indeed fit right in!

(Sorry, I just can't get over how many threes Z-Bo shoots. It's insane. He actually does shoot a bunch for some reason, and he airballs a ton of them, with that one in the vid being by far the best).

Zach Randolph actually shot his best 3 point percentage last year at 34% for the Clippers.

Artest for Ariza? Great move for the Lakers. I'm not a big fan of Artest, but i'll take it.

Just need Odom. C'mon Odom - don't mess with ol' doc buss.

He and Artest live on the same planet in the outer reaches, they should be at home on together!

Just need Starbury on that team and there would be an epic season of weirdness, guaranteed.

Lakers should be heavy favorites to repeat. San Antonio and Denver should be the only teams in the West with legit shots at challenging them, and I don't see either coming close (Portland improving fast, but still nowhere near good enough down low, since Methusala (SP, I know) sucks). Orlando is still my pick in the East, with Boston a close second, but LA creams either one, IMO.

Cleveland's obviously favorites in the East with their off-season additions, even though only Shaq is a big name. Moon is exactly the wing player they needed, especially on defense, and Parker should be reliable from the outside, and provide the size at SG West lacks. If they sign Powe and he comes back as something resembling his old self some time before they playoffs, things will be looking real good for the Cavs.
