I think this is an appropriate forum.

So while browsing the Live store, I came across DLC content for Blazblue (which isn't even out yet) that allows you to unlock characters already in the game, for those too lazy to put the hours in to achieve it the conventional way!

Seriously...is that what its come down to? You can just buy your way to having extra characters

Pretty sad. I hope thats not an indication of online play being like SF IV

Kudos to the developers though. Clearly they wouldn't release this type of content if there werent suckers out there dumb enough to pay for what is already on the disc

Kind of reminds me of the DLC for Blue Dragon or some other JRPG where you could purchase levels for your characters instead of actually doing it yourself. I could see if you were having a hard time with a boss or something but honestly has any JRPG in the last 20 years really been that hard?

This game is great, it seems like a dumb down GGXX at first but after some more playing I can see the differences between the 2 games and I have to say that I find this game more technical than GGX series, and to be completely frank GGX is way more technical than GG which is my favorite. GG is just plain raw fighting, strike at lightning speeds with kick ass music. Everything else after GG made by ARCsys has been tone down on the aggressiveness.

I kept getting invites from Godofhardcore but the moron kept starting the matches early so I could never join, what sucks the most is that I left in both ocassions a good room to play on.

I am a huge fan of BlazBlue so far. I think its def. a toned down X2 (which I have on xbox) but on its own, the online play has been really stellar in my opinion. Very little lag, if at all, and I have only encountered a few assholes that spam the same move and call me "faggot" whether I win or lose

I think BB is gonna have the longevity that SF IV didnt have, in my opinion

Aksys seems to be kicking these out on a regular basis, and I'm trying to decide whether I should be jumping on their bandwagon. Anyone played Battle Fantasia?

That was Tales of Vesparia. You could buy levels, gold and items for a ridiculous amount of Microsoft Points.

Yeah the BB DLC is a total cash grab, but at least it's only 80 MSP...could be useful if you have some points left over and nothing else to use it on.

I could maybe have seen paying a modest fee to unlock Akuma and Gouken in SF4 (since I suck), but the unlock requirements in BlazBlue really aren't very stringent. Seems to me that you'd get them just by pursuing access to all of the basic content (endings and such). I'm not opposed to "convenience DLC," per se, but it's kind of silly when there's a relatively easy method of getting it for free, legitimately.

Set the difficulty to the easiest setting, and the matches to one-round bouts.

If you really want them, you can have them both unlocked in no time (although it becomes more of a chore than a challenge).
