Thread title formerly: Vince Carter to Orlando

Looks like it's done:

From the ISH twitter feed (Jeff)
Quote:
InsideHoops: Wow, the Magic are getting Vince Carter. Someone just told me. And, another reporter has it too

Quote:
InsideHoops: And, Marc Spears (Boston Globe) also reports that Vince Carter to Nets, R.Alston, T.Battie, C.Lee is happening

So I assume this is to replace Hedo when he leaves, inevitably?

Yep, I'm pretty sure that's the plan.

The starting lineup will probably look like this:

Jameer Nelson
Mickael Pietrus
Vince Carter
Rashard Lewis
Dwight Howard

Also, we picked up Ryan Anderson in the deal.

Magic still actually have Hedo's Bird rights and can still go over the cap to re-sign Turkoglu.

So we could be talking about this lineup:

Jameer Nelson
Vince Carter
Hedo Turkoglu
Rashard Lewis
Dwight Howard

It's official, it's a three way race in the east between the Cavs, Celtics, and Magic.

dude, they only lost 2 home games.

The NBA is a fraud. Lebron is not.

FIRE MIKE BROWN!

Eh, they can't beat Orlando, that's for sure.

And now that the Knicks have DARKO, Cleveland is fighting for third, at best.

(the above statement may be completely insane).

Hey there, pirate ghosts, bump this shit for all that wild and crazy off season silliness in the NB of A (yeah, well, screw me, whatever).

Nuggets are supposed to go after Grant Hill, and hard, which would be pretty sweet. If they can't sign him for reasonable enough, Ron Artest is supposed to be the backup plan, but that would mean letting Dahntay Jones leave as a free agent, and I honestly have to say that having the most hated player in the league on the team is kind of nice when it's my city's team (now that Bowen sucks and got traded anyway).

Iverson to Charlotte? Hearing that a little bit. I wouldn't do it if I'm MJ, great way to stunt the growth of the younger guys over there.

Blow up the Rockets and try to build around Brooks? Shit, that team is toast.

Kidd going to the Knicks? Maybe a trade for Rubio, that or he stays in Spain? I say he's going to be far less than advertised.

Warriors are apparently keeping Curry, and rumor is that the Warriors agreed to draft him to do the Amar'e deal then backed out and the Suns are very pissed off.

Ben Gordon to the Pistons? To play for Bill Laimbeer? Also re: Pistons, one more season, max, and they have to fire Dumars, right?

Anyway.

Awesome summary of what's going on right now, jro! :)

Also just in, Portland is in love with Hedo Turkoglu. Rudy Fernandez is pissed off about it.

Seriously, how do people get excited over a fucking sports league that is rigged to shit?

It's fucking pathetic.

The talk about Artest made me think back to the Malice at the Palace... wouldn't it have been funny if there were a boxer like Tyson in the audience? Could you imagine being the athletic but relatively lanky player lunging into the stands and accidentally provoking him to throw a punch? Oh, we missed comedy gold right there.

I don't know, but every season I get my hopes up like an idiot and then see those same hopes dashed to the curb.
