Just based on the survey, which is the reason I sorta came up with that guideline, the most popular games (in order of most votes) are:

Street Fighter III:3rd Strike
Street Fighter IV
Capcom vs SNK 2
Mark of the Wolves
King of Fighters '98
BlazBlue
Samurai Spirits 2
Super Street Fighter II Turbo: HD Remix

We'll see if KOF12 and BlazBlue are any good when July rolls around, to see if they'll be worth putting into tournaments. I think tentatively though, we'll say that the first six listed up there will be our pre-organized tournament games.

Also, the 15th is looking like the biggest percentage of people will be there, so what say you guys we set the date?? :)

Now that we have our tournament games set up and our date will be too, we can start up the official thread over at SRK and we can start working on equipment lists.

OK since I think we've got our "official" list of games down, here's a tentative schedule for the tournaments (this is subject to possible adjustment):

12:00 - setup
1:00-2:00 - doors open / sign ups
2:15 - CvS2 (PS2)
2:30 - BlazBlue (PS3)
3:00 - KoF98 (see below)
5:30 - Garou (see below)
6:00 - SF4 (PS3)
7:00 - SF3:3S (PS2)

After the last official tournament, we can run whatever else people want to do. We have the room until early the next morning, so we can play until like 4:00am or whenever.

I think we're also considering running a King of Fighters XII tournament somewhere in there are well. I'd say that after BlazBlue gets done, if we have enough time before SF4, then we could do KoF12. I guess speak up if you're interested in KoF12 and if it's popular enough, we can probably do it.

One question I need to pose is which version of KoF98 and Garou do people want to play? Really, the toss up is between regular KoF98 on Neo-Geo and KoF98:Ultimate Match on PS2. Likewise, with Garou, do people want to play on Neo or PS2? For KoF98 I'd lean towards doing Ultimate Match, and for Garou, I'd lean towards Neo-Geo. Let us know which you'd prefer.

Tournaments will be overlapping and we'll be running a few of them simultaneously. This schedule also assumes we have adequate equipment to run things simultaneously. In order for that to happen, we need people to bring the following equipment:

4 PS3 [1 - Shogun17]
4 PS2 [1 - Shogun17], [1 - ookitarepanda]
2 Neo-Geo [1 MVS - Grinwing], [1 - GregN.]
10+ TVs (either CRT TVs, HD monitors or HDTVs with Game Mode - this is so they don't lag) [1 HD monitor - Shogun17], [1 CRT TV - ookitarepanda], [1 - Grinwing], [1 CRT - KanYozakura], [1 CRT - GregN.]

4 copies of SF3:3S (Anniversary Collection) [1 - Shogun17], [1 - KanYozakura]
4 copies of SF4 (with all characters unlocked) [1 - Shogun17]
3 copies of CvS2 [1 - Shogun17]
3 copies of BlazBlue [1 - Shogun17], [1 - ookitarepanda], [1 - KanYozakura], [1 - shirokaze]
3 copies of KoF12 [1 - Shogun17], [1 - ookitarepanda], [1 - KanYozakura]
2 copies of Garou [1 PS2 - Shogun17]
2 copies of KoF98 (UM?) [1 AES - ookitarepanda], [1 MVS - Grinwing], [1 UM - KanYozakura], [1 Neo - GregN.], [1 UM - Shogun17]

Please let us know if you are able to bring equipment and I'll mark you down on the list.

I can bring an SDTV, it's a few years old but it looks fine. Composite inputs though... I'll also bring my copies of BlazBlue and KoFXII. If people decide to go for KOF98 on AES instead of Ultimate Match, I have my cart. I can bring PS2(s) as well - Japanese or American, depending on what we want to use.

As stated earlier, I will bring a tv, along with the supergun/mvs/hyper64 setup. I also have KoF98 on MVS if needed.

I've got a CRT TV, a cab (if I can get someone to help me load it), KOF 98 UM, BlazBlue PS3, SF3S PS2 and power strips.

I have an MVS Metal Slug X that can be used for the score run. :vik:

I might possibly be interested in this, depending on the date and whether one of my buddies from school can make it or not. I have a CMVS I can bring, and I have a copy of SS2 for it. I also have a bunch of other MVS games for the more casual players. Depending on how things work out, I might have a CRT TV to bring by then possibly, but that's only possibly. After this new digital switch all the old analog CRT's are showng up in droves at thrift shops super cheap. I am thinking of getting one. I don't know how suited my MVS would be for tourney play, as it's a bit rough around the adges so to speak, and has the regular bios, not a Unibios.

ookitarepanda, you may want to edit information into the first post (if that's possible) to keep things up-to-date. I stopped by the Ramada today and finalized things with the room rental.

Now that things are more or less finalized, I'll make a post on SRK in the Tournament & Events section.

Done and done. First page has been updated! Any info I missed?

I can bring a 15" CRT, a Neo, a power strip, and a copy of KoF '98 for Neo.
I'll also bring Rock Band 2 and instruments.

I want in on the SF4 and KoF 98 tourneys, but don't have a stick for the PS3. SF4 got me back into fighters somewhat.

Well, as fate would have it, I'm now gone from the 17th-6th, so I'm in like Flynn.

I'm more interesting in making sure there is a solid casual gamer section, for sharing interesting games and other stuff that made the early gatherings so great.

I hear we may have a special guest, but that's not in anyway a solid piece of info.

If we need more copies of 98 UM I know a place that has them pretty cheap...we could give the extra copies away as prizes maybe?

Also, I'll have KOF XII by then so you can count on me for that. PS3 BTW

I can bring BlazBlue, Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, Fate: Unlimited Codes, Darkstalkers Collection... I have a JP PS2, Wii, and 360 (along with US versions of all the consoles) and have pretty much all the relevant games people would actually want to play.

By the way... I'm in Rochester and I'm looking at competing in BlazBlue this year..is anyone here local to Roch or would anyone be interested in a regular or semi-regular training/practice session on PSN? Shoot me a PM if so!

Nobody plays down here and so I'm kind of scrubby but looking to get better :D

I might be interested in purchasing one. How cheap is "pretty cheap"?

I believe Clear Sky (from Shoryuken) is from Rochester and plays Guilty Gear and BlazBlue.

$20 with 3 in stock

I know that's MSRP, but it's still cheap and Microcenter is the only place I've ever seen them physically in stock. Well, I guess there's the GameStop nearby but they only have a gutted copy.

shirokaze, I'll add you in a bit once my wife is done with teh Triple. ;)

Players of KOF 98 on 2DF and GGPO are monsters. I'm getting beat by players from war-torn areas and countries...

Now Garou? That's a different story. :loco:
