So the Obama and al-Maliki administrations have agreed that in order to officially lessen the number of American troops in the city of Baghdad they will take the drastic measures of removing thousands of them from the city limits...

...by redrawing the city limits.

Wasn't this guy supposed to end this fuck up?

"There are white folks, and there are ignorant motherfuckers like you."

If you'd like to find a specific number of troops that are actually leaving the country, be my guest.

Remember Nixon campaigning on ending US involvement in Vietnam in 1968?

Remember him campaigning on ending it again in 1972?

lol

Notice how Obama just got finished passing a bill that does not give same-sex partners goverment benefits after he campaigned saying he would. Then today I read he's running his mouth saying the gay community's rights aren't being met, lol.

Notice how Obama said he's gonna clean up wall street, then his Treasury Secretary Geithner picks a former Goldman-Sachs lobbyist as his chief of staff ? He's still rambling about how lobbyist are rotting out wall street and it's gotta be stopped.

Same way with the Iraq war and taxes. He lectured all about lowering taxes, yet more people are bitching about them due to him taxing little shit more and if he gets away with forcing people to pay taxes on their private healthcare, more will be bitching.

If the economy still sucks come 2011, then more people will look at his huge spendings as a total waste of money and overall, nothing he promised will have changed. The swing voters in the swing states will take notice to that fact.

PS ~ This Waxman Bill is a fucking joke and in a few years, the middle class is gonna feel it.

He's on a path to be a one term President.

Ron Paul now has 245 co-sponsors for a bill that would force an full fledged audit of the Federal Reserve.

He's been wanting this done since 83', back when he couldn't get 20 people to go along with him.

It sucks he can't get 245 co-sponsors for Fair Tax. :crying:

This is why at the current rate things are going, I can't understand why anyone thought he was really going to change anything for the better. It was a pipe dream that many were dumb enough to buy into.

His charismatic speaking ability was only good for promising change. It's not going to work after 4 years of him going against his word. More people, mostly the swing voters are going to be "yeah, yeah, I've heard this shit before".

Here's my personal little could-be predition. Let gas sore up to $4 a gallon again and I predict his next approval rating would drop under 50%.

Even if the cause of the price spike had nothing to do with him, ie..China spikes up their purchase of oil, a few oil exporters have to cut back to sells (supply and demand).

Alot of people will still take it out on the President, which proves a point. I think alot of voters simply don't realize that alot of issues aren't something any President can snap their fingers and fix, it's a bigger issue that's out of their hands. This is why it's easy for would be Presidents to promise shit they know they can't come through on.

The housing issues is the best example. The citizens caused that. Yes, the government and lenders did rig it where we got sub-prime loans, but still, millions of people bought houses they knew they couldn't afford. Had the citizens been responsible and said "I know I'm approved, but I realize it's too expensive, I'll pass and keep renting until I have more income", then bam, we wouldn't have this problem.

What puzzles me is that anyone believes a politician actually gives a shit about anyone else's problems.

I believe the vast, vast majority of politicians are about their own Party's stake in the government first, the companies via lobbyist 2nd and the citizens 3rd.

I have the feeling that government would be a lot more reliable if lobbying were made illegal.

according to my nutjob cousin and her equally nutjob fiance, universal healthcare means we are one step away from communism. so i must say that lack of healthcare would actually be viewed as a positive in some circles.

All this shit could be fixed by instituting federal financing of congressional elections. It would only cost about 2.5 billion every two years.

My favorite part of all of this is the look on people's faces when they realize that Obama is a politician just like the 43 men that preceded him. They all lie to get there, lie while they're there and lie when they leave.

Eat shit Laos and Cambodia!

LOL

But yeah.

American troops in Iraq are far from coming home (regardless of who is in office.)

Just to correct you, it is 42 men.... 43 presidencies, but only 42 men.

Well sure. But that's not going to happen unless something really drastic occurs.

And for the record, Obama is proving to be a typical politician much faster than I thought he would. I'd hoped he'd at least do one or two of the things he promised before disappointing me.

I'm still surprised that folks actually made him into a semi-legit fashion statement......as if for once, politician tees are in this (last) Fall.

I love how he thought it was a good idea to start expanding the scope of military operations well outside of acceptable geographic parameters, and then thought no one would find out about it. More hilarious were his TV briefings about the strategy when he had to finally talk about it. If Nixon had pulled the troops out by the late Summer of 1969, and Watergate never happened, he probably would have gone down as arguably the greatest president of the 20th century given his foreign policy achievements outside of Vietnam. Absolutely brilliant man, too bad he was a crazy fuck and all.

What's really sad is that Nixon and the rest of his sidekicks really believed that containment was a viable option, and a worthy approach to fighting communism. Don't get me wrong when the Soviets crushed the Czechs in 1968, it was one of those ammunition things that those in favor of being in Vietnam seized on. But too bad none of them ever realized that the different communist systems in existence circa 1968 were not identical. I'd like to take this time to thank Joe McCarthy for keeping his long lasting influence of paranoia about communism going long after he was gone from the public stage.

Oh well, looks like no one learned again about the dangers of believing presidential candidate promises when a conflict/war is going on that we shouldn't be involved in. Somewhere LBJ and Nixon are probably laughing at us.
