I know people in here aren't 100% crazy about Mame cabinets and emulation in general but I thought this was relevant enough to share.
I had wanted an MVS cab for years but the timing was always wrong. I owned one a few years back that I was refurbishing but I sold it after I got frustrated with the cost of repairing it and the sheer size of the thing.
So my priority switched to trying to find a miniaturized MVS cab (not a candy but the miniature version of the MVS 2 Slot cab). After looking for months I decided, why not just build one? So I designed a mini-MVS to fit right next to my desk in my home office.
I just about finished it this past weekend and I thought I'd share with everyone. And before the hardware die hards flame me to death, yes I own an MVS board. I took the measurements for the full-size MVS-2 slot cab and scaled them back about 25%. It runs on a 17" LCD and is made of 3/4" MDF. Graphics were done custom sized in Adobe Illustrator and printed out by www.emdkay.net (if you ever need custom or reproduction arcade art this guy does a great job).
I'm in the process or ordering custom-sized side art and the over-the-coin-door decals.
Here's a link to the worklog on BYOAC.
