So the plot thickens.
You see when I got home last night I eagerly opened the parcel. Once I had established I had received a conversion I then of course frantically set about taking piccies, phoning the bank and paypal, and posting here. It didn't even occur to me to check that what I had received matched up to what was pictured in the auction. (plus I needed GoW time, god I'm addicted to it)
But then today I realised I should probably check, and let me tell you, work did not finish quickly enough today, I was that eager to get home and check it out the cart I received as compared to the auction.
As will become apparent I did not receive the cart pictured in the auction!
You are all bright chaps so you can infer what you choose from this.
I choose to infer the following.
The cart pictured in the auction was indeed a legitimate BTG cart. The cart I received was not, and it was not the cart that was pictured in the auction. If you compare the piccies from the auction (as far as you are able) to the piccie of BTG in this sites cart pics section you will see that for all the discrepancies I will point out below (ie between the copy I received and the copy in the auction) the copy in the auction matches what a legitimate copy should look like. What I received does not, and indeed it has already been accepted by the seller that I received a conversion.
So what does that mean?
To me it seems as follows. The seller has a legitimate BTG cart. (presumably the one he purchased frpom VGI. Much as I am choked by Simone's kind words (thank you Simone) I do feel he is a little harsh on VGI. Sure they have problems from time to time as do all retailers, but they do know their shit in my experience) This legit cart was pictured in the auction. The seller did not send me that cart, but rather deliberately sent me a conversion to try and scam me. And then as if that wasn't bad enough the seller is trying to give the defence of innocence, saying that they must have bought a conversion originally.
NO NO NO! The seller used the legit BTG he had to make a conversion. The seller advertised the auction with piccies of a legit cart. The seller deliberately sent me a conversion and is now trying to pass the blame elsewhere. This is some seriously depressing deception, sorry attempted deception.
So onto the piccies. (I'm just going to point out what I can obviously tell as different..the auction piccies aren't the clearest to give a fully detailed analysis)
Here is the auction link btw.

Here is the insert piccie from the auction
Here is a piccie of the rear of the insert I received. Please note all the extra on the left hand edge. Compare the gap between the edge of the insert and the players heads and the 2 screenshot windows. The auction piccie has little gap, the copy I received a much greater gap (even allowing for the angle of the auction piccie)
Now onto the instructions front cover. Here is the auction piccie. Look hard at the top right corner. (Note it looks exactly like the cart pictured in this sites cart piccie section, hence why I believe he advertised a legit copy..and sent me a fake)
Now compare that corner to the corner on the copy I received. Sod all white line, much more blue background in that corner! Also please look at the staple position of the bottom staple. In the piccie above (auction piccie) you can see that the bottom of the bottom staple is pretty much in line with the top of the yellow rom box, as it should be. The staple on the copy I received is much much higher up.
Onto the instructions rear cover from the auction . Take a good look at the 2 things here, the amount of white sheet below the bottom of the ball outline, and the positioning of the top staple.
Looked closely? Good, now compare to the instructions I received (below)! Mysteriously (or not as the case may be) the instructions I received have a greater white bit under the ball and the staple has rather bizarrely lowered its position.
And onto the cart sticker. Here is the auction piccie. Take a look at the positioning of the neo geo logo and the gold edge/the final T in Tournament. Note how far in from the left hand side the neo geo logo is, and note how far in from the right hand side the ball edge/last T in tournament are.
And here is the cart sticker I received. Note how magically in transit the sticker on the cart I received altered itself. There is a greater green section between the logo and the left hand side, there is a much smaller white bit between the ball edge/last t in tournament of the right hand side (indeed the t is almost falling off the edge!).
So there you have it.
Just to reiterate I believe the seller used a real BTG in the auction piccies, but sent me a conversion. This has to have been deliberate, despite the seller now trying to protest their innocence by saying he didn't know he had bought a conversion!
Face it Mounir, you have been caught out for the low life POS fucking scumbag C**T that you are!
Now he has repeatedly stated to me in pms that he needs 1-3 days to get a refund together, despite paypal telling me he could just refund the funds in his paypal account that paypal have put on hold.
However we all know paypal can say one thing but mean another. So I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt for a short while.
I will pm him again as soon as this post is submitted, but I will also just state things here as a matter of public record.
So Mounir, you have until the time I get into work on Monday morning (9:30am, UK time) to send me the refund you have promised me in at least 4 pms today. Once this has been received I will liase with paypal as to how best to get the money to them. (After all it is paypal you owe the money to not me..my cash won't be leaving my bank whatsoever). Once paypal have received the funds and both they and I are satisfied that all financial aspects of this pathetic attempt to scam me are sorted out I will then return this piece of shit conversion to you, at my expense, unless you wish to try and regain some little bit of dignity and send me funds to cover its return.
If no refund to me or paypal is forthcoming by the time I've switched my PC on on Monday morning, the dispute will become a claim, and if needs be I will take the appropriate steps to initiate legal proceedings against you (having spent some time this afternoon collating emails/pms/evidence, confirming silly legal issues such as jurisdiction and relevant best practise etc). I will also forward all of this information to your local police department in sunny Wattrelos.
Have a nice weekend you POS
