Oh shit that would have been tight...

The more I'm thinking about X3 the more I hate it.
collosus and jugg fought in that sad excuse of x-men cartoon pilot in the late 80s.

Makes you realize it couldn't be THAT good
what DOES bother me is that they didnt even acknowledge that him and Xavier are step brother

i agreed with that until i realized considering the VERY minial they were together in the film it wouldn't really do much for the plot.

X-MEN 3 was decent, but it wasn't worthy of a finale for the series of great movies.

I waited in line for about 3 hours.. jumping to about 4 or 5 movie theatres for the chance to see it (because the group I went with was too lazy to order tickets online and would rather waste hours driving around wasting gas to find a theatre that had any seats left) on opening day.

Honestly.. NO WAY IN HELL that movie was worth all that drama. The only movie that would have been so far this year is V for Vendetta.

Overall it was still good, but come on.. it wasn't worth the title of "X-Men." You could definitely see that it was rushed. The catch phrases were sweet though, and Wolverine's little slice'n'dice move in the beginning added just enough entertainment to keep everyone watching.

This movie was all over the place. It tried to cover too much ground and ended up not covering anything very well.

- The Phoenix story went nowhere, and felt completely forced. I understand it had to be in there due to X2's ending, but it could have been implemented a lot better.

- The "new" X-Men team members, Kitty Pryde and Colossus were pretty much cardboard cutouts.

- Xavier's "death" was pretty random and unnecessary. I felt no emotion watching that scene at all. And the end scene after the credits was a complete copout. If you're going to kill someone and make a big deal out of it, just leave him dead.

- Seemed like Fox said, "Fuck you, James Marsden. For taking a role in that queer Singer's Superman Returns, we will limit your screen time to 5 minutes and then kill you off."

- Too many mutants were in the movie just for the sake of throwing in mutants, especially Angel. He was absolutely useless.

- Magneto was totally out of character. The guy can care less about humans, but he would not willfully sacrifice or turn his back on mutants so carelessly like that.

- Cameron Bright (Leech) annoys the hell out of me. He plays the same character in every single movie (Ultraviolet, Godsend, Stargate, etc.)

- They completely threw Rogue out the window, especially having her give up her powers. They should have at least have her drain Phoenix or something.

- I did like the reference to Omega, Alpha, Beta, etc. level mutants.

- Iceman actually going into his ice form was nice.

All in all, it was moderately entertaining but definitely not as good as the last two movies, which I pretty much expected. What really bugged me about this movie was that it didn't really have a theme going on. The first movie explored what it was like to deal with being a mutant. The second movie explored mutant/human relations. The third one should have explored mutant/mutant relations. They should have gone with Apocalypse as the main villain and have the X-Men and Brotherhood team up to fight him, with a climactic battle between him and the Phoenix at the end. With all the possibilities they could have done, they went with a generic "anti-mutant" serum.

P.S. - How does the spoiler tag work?

Apparently you didn't get it's reference either.:kekeke:

That line wasn't referring to the Rick James sketch.

Oh no, I knew all about "The Juggernaut Bitch" skit but what I was saying was that around the time the movie was in production, there was no way anyone making the movie could have known about that Juggernaut bitch video... unless that was added at the last minute.

Um, why did Cyclops die?

I get Jean Grey, they can resurrect her anytime they want, but why Cyclops?

Isn't he supposed to be the damn "Hawk" (G.I.Joe) of the X-Men?

I can't fucking believe that was in the movie.

I enjoyed the film.

I almost died laughing when Juggy said that. XD

Agreed. The movie was a bit overdone, but awesome nonetheless.

Not in the comics. He's the backbone of the active team, behind Xavier.

How are they going to bring him back? They can dredge up Jean Grey anytime they want, because she was Psychic, so they can explain some mumbo jumbo and presto, she's alive again. But what, are they going to clone Cyclops?

WTF is up with Rogue?!! I hate when she says, "I can't hug or even give a handshake" last time I checked, you could use gloves like in the comics :blow_top: if they wanted a love story why didn't they just use gambit?? also who was psylocke??
it would have been cool to see morrow in the moive :D

You're the only X-Man fan I've seen that actually stands up for Cyclops. Every other person I've talked to can't stand him.

I also liked how they snuck in several cameos and used more obscure characters such as Quill, Arclight, The Stepford Cuckoos, Multiple Man, etc.

I used to hate Cyclops, but that was before I really read up about him. With all the shit he's gone through, you gotta let some stuff slide when he does seem like a dick.

I haven't actually read many comics like the X-men, I like his attire when his hair didn't show.

Anyway, he's always been billed the Field Leader for the X-Men, nobody else has his leadership skills. I mean, Wolverine as leader? he's not up for it.

I am really not getting this whole concept of killing him. I don't know why, I'm just stuck on that fact alone.

You can kill Wolverine, right? Why not kill him, he can come back in any of the many forms he wants to, but Cyclops doesn't have Psychic abilities like Grey, and he can't regenerate like Wolvie, and he can't be replaced like Iron Man (same suit, different guy inside.)

What the hell, seriously?

The more I read about how this is some travesty for defying the comics, the more I'm glad I don't read comics.

LOL, seriously --who cares? Movies butcher novels all the time, but most movies are looked at as they are. This one was a step down from the previous two, but not that much lower since X1 and X2 were basically embarassed by Spidy2, which was an actual superhero movie that defied being a genre piece.

Dude.

Batman Begins owned. It was an awesome movie and I don't remember a key person being murdered for no reason.

It's like a Fatal Fury movie where Andy Bogard gets killed by Mai when she went insane.

You don't kill off the leader of a group.

Did Hicks die in Aliens? No, because he was the leader of his squad of morons.

Oh, and IIRC in Sin City, the only thing that didn't go with the comics was that the Girl Prostitute got killed in a different place, at a different time.

Batman Begins was a good genre film, better than the Xmen films. I think it's been a little overhyped by some fanboys, but it's good action stuff. I thought Sin City was slick, and from a technical achievement standpoint it was just amazing to me --of course the acting was all over the place, if I could just take Marv's segment it was amazing. Spidy-2 was balanced and surprisingly well crafted. Something about it just made it a better movie than Batman Begins, X2 or the parts of Sin City that were so-so (Madsen was the Sofia Coppola of that picture).

I haven't seen either Spidey movies, but I really don't want to if they completely butcher the original story it was made with...

sounds like it's best that you don't see 'em then, especially 2...getting unmasked in front of a subway car full of New Yorkers was still the most unnecessary and stupid part of the sequel

Damn straight.

I really dislike the godlike characters in comics. Isn't Wolvies deaths and resurrections on par with Superman?
