Figured the lot of us will see it and was wondering what you guys think of it.

Personally I enjoyed the movie, Kelsey Grammer played an AMAZING beast and i wasn't to upset about how the movie rewrote the stroy line. It was entertaining to watch and the action was good as well.

anyone else catch the Stan Lee cameo?

Just got back from seeing it with a friend of mine. I thought this was a good movie. Truth be told, I felt I felt it could've been better but what can you do without Singer in the director chair (or helping with the story)?

Did you sit through the credits? I heard there was an extra scene afterwards?

What happens?

See juggernaut thread: I was kind of hoping you'd tell me.

I thought it was great. I would say it was as good as X-Men 2 but it didnt surpass it. Kitty Pryde was awesome and Beast was the shit.

The extra scene was Charles lying in a hospital bed. You dont actually see his face so you dont know if its really him. But you hear Patrick Stewart say "Moria its me" or something along those lines.

I thought the movie was alright. The first two were better. Alot of the effects were kinda shitty. And you could tell the story was chopped up bad from all those screenplay rewrites. But it was still entertaining.

I still wish they would have gone with Apoc in this one. Switched "the cure" with his super virus, maybe thrown cable in the beginning of the film, Apoc was the smash everything bad guy

Yeah because we should just throw every X-Men story line into ONE movie and call it a night

Seriously?

Thats lame.

They should have just ended it honestly. I don't care for another Xmen film (i liked all three though) and I didnt like how they hinted at the end that Magneto was going to be back.

They should have just had Magneto realize the error of his ways so we got some more resolution then we actually did.

And please, f the comic purists.

Cable was an X-Factor (first appearance as a child)/New Mutants storyline anyways. He has no place in an X-Men movie.

Yeah that extra scene was fucked up. I could have sworn Xavier disintegrated into dust. How the hell could he be back. It was a pretty good movie though.

sure we can....i sat through 4 hours of ROTK we can give a little more time to the X-men.

not like the movies followed plot perfectly anyway.

Maybe for a 4th, but then again with scott and jean dead there would be no cable. If that didn't happen this is how i could see the 4th...(if it were to happen which it wont)

opens with egyptian times with young apoc. Some stuff happens 5-10 minutes of the stuff.

modern time with cable time traveling in

Nimrod warps blows shit up Wolverine gets another 90 minutes of consecuvtive screeen time (just kidding)

some dialouge

Virus stuff

apoc

kabooms

I'm saying it COULD happen, but i COULD get hit by an airplane

Meh, I liked it. Definately the weakest of the three movies. I knew what I was in for, so I had no expectations walking in. My only gripe was that it was too short. They could have explored so much more, but again, meh.

Yea, I mean they killed off many principle characters, why don't they just end it. They'll keep making more as long as they can make money. This is definitely the weakest of the three films.

This movie made me think, oddly enough, about drug companies and diseases. If they could cure, say, ADHD or alcoholism for example, would people want that? What about depression? Does society have a right to force cures for certain diseases on us?

Of course people want it. They spend billions of dollars every year on trying to keep their ADD or depression in check. It's natural. Those are actual diseases. Now say some company came out with what they called a cure for homosexuality. Then that would be uncalled for since it's not a disease and just the way they are and live their life and are happy with it like being a mutant is in the movie. Don't confuse a person's natural abilities and differences with actual diseases.

You guys have the extra scene a little wrong. In the beggining they were in the classroom and xavier was talking about if it would be right to put on mans consience in another mans body whom was in a coma and had no consience. In the end of the movie after he was incenerated he put himseilf in the coma patients body and thats why we hear him at the end. His body isn't there, just his mind.

The movie had to deep of a story for the short amount of time it was. They hardly went into arc angel and others. Good in terms of action, in terms of story...well they did a good job with leaving no open questions. However, they only scratched a surface of the real story.

Ahh that explanation kind of makes sense. Still think it could have ended better though.

Let's say - for instance a kid wants to play drums who has ADHD. His parents want to put him on some medication to settle him down. The kid can't play drums to his full potential when he's on the meds, but it's more convenient for his parents and everyone around him to settle down and take the meds. Is it right for the parents to curb the kid's natural ability for the convenience of society and themselves? They alluded to this with Jean Grey as well.

Meh, Angel was just in there for kicks, nothing more.

I didn't really mind that they didn't explore all the characters to much. I always felt the whole Xmen trilogy we've got on film was more about the whole Mutant debate, rather than about the Xmen themselves. Wolverine, Magneto, and Xavier were well fleshed out though, as well as some of the others. I didn't mind not learning the backstory on Shadowcat, Colossus, and the others mainly because that wasn't the most important part of the film.

Damn, they should have just ended it.

from what i understand, if you read the book (of the movie) things tie together a little better, and certain things change.

I still find it funny how the 1st film was mostly about rouge and in this one she just throws her power away

meh

But it was pretty clear throughout all the films that she just wanted to be able to get close to people.

The way they show Rouge in these three films it makes sense that this version of her character would want to get rid of her mutant powers.
