You are talking about buying and emulator to get it out of the market? If you do that, wouldnt some other sly motherfucker do another one. What the fuck would be the point of that?

Nothing major for some of them ... as there is a ton of say, Genesis emulators out there, plus I doubt Sega really gives 2 shits for the most part. But can you imagine if the Mame code was bought and taken off the net?! And they policed to make sure nobody offered/created derivitives of it? They could never police it effectively, but they could make a major dent in the emulation scene...which would suck. I'm just surprised nobody has tried to do something like that. [I think Bleem actually started as a freeware software and then got "bought"...dunno the whole story behind that one]

I was honestly just rambling...

I think those Korean Metal Slugs for PC actually run through Mame if I'm not mistaken???
