(about Neowave) the backgrounds actually animate well .

I somehow agree with most of your post except for that. The animation on the Neowave backgrounds is almost non-existant. I didn't find the music great too.

I'm freakin' excited about this! I've been starved for a true follow-up to '03 for a while now. I can't recognize Hiroaki's work that easily, but if that is indeed him than it was about time they got him doing KOF. He's always been the one that should've followed Shinkiro IMO.

We'll be waiting for those loke test reports beelze. :buttrock:

sorry,but no
it's not about the fact chaos is broken in 2p mode
many fighters are shitty in 2p but shine in 1p mode
samurai spirits series until 0 / sp for example, hehehe
problem is,those chaos new sprites are alright until you see them in motion
and the bgs are super ugly
there are exceptions ( demitri, red arremer and his stage ) but chaos remains a shot in the foot
the entire vibe from the game is like
"hello,i'm 30 % finished but they decided to release me anyway,go figure"

aaaanyway,
let's keep our collective fingers crossed, yeah?

people who are into kof for the gameplay are gonna love it no matter what

everybody else is going to complain like crazy

it's like a non written law

nah mate, the backrounds are pretty amazing on average (the cage/lift stage for instance) with a couple of misses. I'd say red arremer looks horrible. in my opinion.
hehe

I'm really hoping that they will keep the tag system.

But lots of people will be pissed if it happens :glee:
I guess I'm one of the people that's not crazy about tagging, but I still hope they keep it for at least a couple more games. I wasn't crazy about strikers in '99, but by '01 I felt like they had created something interesting with it. In the same way, I hope tagging goes through some evolution and we get a couple variations on what they had in '03.

Not that I like tag that much - I never digged the Capcom tag games, not by the tag aspect, at least. But I like how it worked out in KOF and gave a breath of new air in the game. Lot of friends of mine that were '98 hardcore fans loved '03 at th first sight because of that, too. The speed increase was good point, at least to me.

'03 was the first game were SNKP done a great job (duolon aside, of course).

I never liked the strikers thing. Looked too unreal like a "Marvel vs Capcom" thing to be considered cool at a SNK (darker) game.

What didn't you like about the tag system? At first it felt weird to me because it was King of Fighters. Once I got the hang of it I hated going back to the old Team system because I liked switching so much.

My most hated, but at the same time loved part of '03 had to be the leader system. It was better than having to be in some super duper max mode, but sucked when I would really want someone else's leader special.

Holla.

This is SNKP's best artist. And you, yeah you with the face, quit being negative about SNKP.

the art isn't that bad - I like the expressive nature of those pictures. its still well beneath the standard you'd expect of a company wanting to fill the shoes of SNK.
quit being negative about SNKP?
hahahahahahaha.
come on now..

I sense this is fake b/s

It's under SNKP internet domain. How could it be fake? The logo was registered by them some days ago, too.

Just preference. I like 1-on-1>teams>tagging. It's not that I think tagging sucks, or that it doesn't belong in KOF; I just prefer without tagging, kind of the way I prefer driving games to shooting games or something.

Out of 500+ posts, this was in your top 20 dumbest. Sorry. "Fake b/s"? Why would Playmore have a fake announcement for a fake loke test ON THEIR OFFICIAL SITE?

edit: Verythrax beat me.

Ugh, the artwork is horrible, KOF EX 2's was wonderfull though. I hope the other art is much better... ah well.

I hope the game has new sprites, but honestly, I don't think so considering the time they had and the other games they where/are working on.

Well I'd like to see the tagging system come back. Makes the action non-stop, which is cool. Not a big fan of the leader system, I'd like to see the DM/SDM format a la 98 back. No new sprites is almost a given. Or maybe Robert will change costume and movelist again (not). Only now I expect some new effects (like, you know, fireballs and sparks and all, because most of them look pretty lame)

Oh yeah, and the art is great. I like how the guy drawed K'. Looks badass, anti-pretty face. Balance things out, with Ash looking like a girl.

BTW, newb here. Err... Holla..?

I'm really excited to see what they can do with this new sequel. I really enjoyed KOF '03 from top to bottom (sans Duo Lon's cheese), so hopefully it will remain an extension of it.

Artwork is rather crap though. If its Hiraoki, its definetely not up to par with his usual quality. He should start drawing like he used to back in '00.

Something worries me though....why is SNKP having a loke test for new a Samurai Shodown and KOF before releasing NGBC, which was hyped all to hell? Are they losing confidence in its ability to be a success?

K' has some of lazy eyes in that art. Not too bad though, I would have expected more to come out of the logo, especially how the KOF03's logo looked. As far as the game goes, I want to see more of a that story, new Garou characters, and an improved tag system.

Gah, what happened, Hiroaki sacrificed his usually more dynamic color gradients for softer ones, and less gritty lines....

I think the KOF2000 K' Fire/Kula Ice is one of his best. So powerful!!

But feck man, can't wait... a new KOF that [hopefully] will be taking advantage of a powerful hardware's capability!

Holy shit Ash is looking incredibly gh3y. But yeah, I'm not getting my hopes up for this one. I predict that it'll be another "wait for the PS 2 port" type of game. SS Tenka has me a little stoked though.

DAMN DAMN DAMN.

I missed the Samurai Spirits Tenka loketest because I was outta town, now I'm gonna miss the KOFXI test because I've got a conference to attend.

They gotta start announcing these things a little more ahead of time.

beelze, RBjake, you're up to bat!

Tell me about it.

Actually, there's not much point in me going to the KOF loketests anyway as I always get my ass kicked when it's my turn to play. A lot of Tokyo's top players show up for these things, and I just can't compete. I found this out the hard way at the Neowave test. It was like - a) stick coin in, b) lose, c) get back in line, d) stick coin in etc.

I can hold my own at Samurai Spirits, which is why I'm a little more disappointed that I missed that one.
