Whoever it is,is using N-G.COM cartridge photos and claims to have alot of high end titles. I also noticed the seller requests immediate payment after auction.
I had to recently track down an eBay seller that required immediate payment
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZseiken82QQhtZ-1
I would advise to be suspicious until we read otherwise.

Interesting auctions, ultra fishy, anyone thinking about bidding on these items,
needs to be very concern.

Scam for sure.

Look at the ninja masters and blazing star auctions, where he/she/it has tried to add "personality" to the item descriptions, both are near mint , but both games` manuals supposedly have something wrong/slight bend on their right side?????

the whole text should be in captions :kekeke:

I guess they are meant to be tempting.

Someone plz contact that guy and ask for additional pictures, just to see what he comes up with?

(I don`t have ebay Id`s and can`t be bothered to sign up just for that :emb: )

I'm currently in talks with this seller concerning these very same issues. I agree with all of you though; sounds too good to be true.....

mm he has good feedback. I wouldn't be worried, even if there's a risk obviously. There's a risk in each transaction anyway. But has long as the feedback of a seller is good, I'm not worried.

This is a scam:
-no feedback
-member since july 03 and no transaction
-no photo
-big money in game
-no description Jp/US
-ridiculously low shipping fees

Now you can see the seller we're talking about doesn't sound like a scammer at first sight.

Not a clear scam but be careful, why can he be bothered to take a picture of a lot of 6 dreamcast magazines but not a few thousand dollars worth of neo games...

just an observation, on the MVS slug cart collection the carts are listed as NTSC format. Either this was an oversight/typo or the guy doesnt know what hes selling.
I smell a rat.

Any person who has purchased those type of high end carts knows what the value of them would be, why are you going to sell Quiz Chibi for that price, even the buy it now price looks stupid. wouldnt touch these auctions with a bargepole.

i dont necessarily agree. JU707 has great feedback ... and as far as neo geo goes he basically only sells mvs boots. i'd be very careful with this guy also.

I agree that it looks suspect but don't let the immediate payment thing be a put-off.

I recently added that as one of my requirements. I have had a ton of non-paying bidders. My auction gets ended by BIN then they don't pay. I finally gave in and went to the immediate payment thing b/c then either I get paid or the auction goes on.

I also had to add confirmed shipping address to my list of Paypal requirements. Got burned twice in the same week for $200. Shipped out the stuff then got the payments reversed b/c it wasn't really the buyers Paypal account. Since I hadn't shipped to a confirmed address Paypal would do nothing.

Sorry to get off-track.

Yes, it's is very strange because if you look at his last deals in the feeback reports, it's only stuff with small values. So I think it's a very big risk to bid on his auctions considering that with so high valuated games, there is no clear descriptions and no original pictures.

Anyway, we will see over the next days if the buyers of the SS5 and Metal Slug 5 at very good prices will receive anything...

Paypal Buyer protection

I dont know the in's and out's of the PayPal buyer protection scheme but wouldn't that add an extra bit of confidence in dealing with this guy ?

I'd never bid on something like that. A favorite scam of these e-bay shitbags is to build up feedback by buying/selling 5 dollar shit, and then suddenly listing a crapload of high-end items - none of which have legitimate pictures.

A guy was doing this with PSP bundles just a few weeks ago.

Bid on those and you're asking for trouble.

Yeah looks like a scam

He hasn't sold much in the last 3 months. And the picture issue is really screwy.

It's like the Arade ops that will list a TMNT PCB as "untested as I have no way to test it". IN another auction, they list a Double Dragon as "Tested, working" and have pics to prove it.

True that was how I lost $200.00 back in 2001.

WTF: Does any of you think that his Metal Slug set is overpriced?

Paypal's protection looks ok, but you have to file within 45 days of payments and you'll have to provide proff that you never received [or it was significatly different than the auction, I don't know if this would cover bootlegs that are hard to prove...]

The seller hasn't sold any aes in the last 6 months if not longer...

some of these quotes are AWESOME:

shock trooper 2nd :
"its near mint, but otherwise its good"
...is that a good thing?

overtop + magical drop 3 + breakers:
"not a conversion"
...I would HOPE not

metal slug 3:
"sorry there is no pics, my camera is messed up, I'll try to get them up soon"
...did your camera have imprint "neogeo.com" on all the rest of the pics?

and you of course:
"im selling this stuff cuz i got a MVS machine now, and i figured there is no reason to keep these around when i dont use em. Plus, video games is an expensive hobby, so this will help me buy more games, possibly even shinier games then this."
shinier?!?! MVS games?

maybe if we translate his story to english it would go something like this:

Since I now own an MVS and no longer have an AES, I have decided to sell all of my super-awesomely rare AES games and purchase 1,000 cd games instead. I alos have a neat-o camera that imprints "http://www.neo-geo.com" onto all of the pictures that it takes. However, it broke for a couple of days, then it got fixed, so I could add pictures to my later auctions. Let me tell you about my auctions, Video games are an expensive hobby and my games are not conversion, however, I made no mention of bootlegs, there is a difference. Some of my games are near mint, but in otherwise good condition. I am a really good ebay seller, you can easily tell this because I have LOTS of positive feedbacks. To sum it all up, I like shiny objects, like video games.

...sorry, I'm bored......

:oh_no: When I first saw this auction I figured SCAM!!...This type auction I'd stay Far away from.

From what I read in the auction it looks like he came here lurked around, found any info he could here, stole some picks and is trying to catch some people out there with this scam(Easily Done)
...Shame is he's got bidders.

I'm waiting to see the future topic with.."I just got scammed on Ebay what do I do?"..
Some stupid greedy fuck will get sucked in by this and cry later..(Oh I can't pass this up..Oh look at what I scored!!!)

..................................................
Plus:
Why would you sell your Metal Slug MVS kits when you just got a MVS machine.(("im selling this stuff cuz i got a MVS machine now))

I wonder just how old this person is..(looks to be a kid)..and I bet he or she's following this thread.
He might even be a disgruntled, banned member from here.

..The last time I made a thread about what looked to be a scam on Ebay..I later found a nasty PM calling me an asshole for posting his auction as being a scam.(had pm notification off)
I don't know if it ever turned out to be a scam but the member never said anything in the thread to his defense.

I would definitly be cautious there is no way in hell someone would sell a US Ninja Masters for $650 unless you have a real bad drug habit. :oh_no:
