Wow, unbelievable. But were they murder just for an X Box and clothes, or was it something previous that may have occured between them? Its just that its a bit overboard to kill 6 people just for a fucking system.

But still, thats just horrible.

Geez... That's just extreme... And I can't believe those three guys at the right are only 18-year-olds...

They seem like some hip-hop Boy Band off, "Making the Band," or something. B2K & IMX gone wrong. Shady & D12 impersonators too.

Anyway, sorry for the spam.

I saw that... a little extreme. A Saturn -- maybe. An X-Box? Worth a beating, at most.

This probably had little to nothing to do with a video game - these cro-magnun fucks would've probably done the same thing had it been a pencil.

I heard about it yesterday, but I'm guessing this is the motive behind it. For an X-box, dude? There's nothing in the world that would make me kill for an X-box, or any other system for that matter......pfft. Well, hope the four you like having your lungs deflated, spineless turds!

Throw the book at 'em, Dano! :blow_top:

I heard about that on CNN. Terrible story, though I must admit I almost chuckled when I heard it was over a game system.

The 6-foot-5 suspect Victorino has spent eight of the last 11 years in prison and was arrested for a probation violation eight days before the killings.

damn mainstream gamers :loco:

well that's not very good journalism displayed in that article when they try to focus on the xbox as the main driving point. the latter part of the article points to the slain people basically moving in to the dudes former hangout/house while in prison.

I hope they get executed or worse (life in prison), but I wonder if there was some extra tension between all of the people involved.

The article was written very poorly, so it was hard to discern the issues surrounding those involved.

Still, nothing they could've done would've warranted being killed.

When I was back in LA, the boyfriend of my ex-girlfriend got knocked off (bullets to the back) over a child custody battle -and it had nothing to do with sole custody, the man just wanted more than two hours a week with his son. People kill for very stupid reasons, and those people deserve to vanish into the penal system forever.

I think something between them happened previously, and they took the system because they figured she ain't gonna be around to play it. But, if people are killing people over systems, then, what next? People killing each other for Happy Meals?

Eh. There are a lot of people in the world. You can never tell enough about what happened from stories like this to know whether they're worth caring about....

Well I'm not so sure about people getting in rage over happy meals but not so long ago an off duty SF police officer beat the @#$% out of a pedestrian over a bag of fajitas. :oh_no:

Ok... first of all...
You guys are getting played by Yahoo's bullshit sensationalism.
The shock of the topic isn't that 6 people were killed over an Xbox. It's that 6 people were killed over petty theft.

The title and first paragraph easily could've been
"Police: Clothes Theft Spurred Fla. Slayings"
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - An ex-convict who blamed a young woman for taking his clothes and video game system recruited three teenagers to stab and beat her and five others to death, investigators said Sunday.

Just another stab at video games by the media, nothing else. Obviously, the sole fact that an Xbox was stolen has little to do with the actual murders--I'm sure that psycho would've done it even if the Xbox was left alone.

The Xbox is just a small detail blown to huge proportions.

it wasn't even theft. that's how poorly written the article is.

the last part of the article:
Belanger's brother-in-law, said she described heading to the vacant house to go swimming one day and finding about six people living there. The squatters were kicked out, but deputies were called to the grandparents' house six time in 10 days before the killings. The victims reported a tire-slashing at their home and a threat.

The squatters warned Belanger that "they were going to come back there and beat her with a baseball bat when she was sleeping," Abshire, who is married to Erin's sister Jennifer, told The Sun of Lowell, Mass., for Sunday editions.

Victorino complained that his belongings were removed from the grandparents' house while he was in jail following a July 29 arrest for battery, Johnson said. He said Victorino found his things boxed up at the victims' house and took them after the killings.
