Differences between Slug 2 and Slug X are...?

I know this has been covered before, but I can't a good explanation for the life of me...

I know X fixed the slowdown issues of 2, but what else has changed?

Are the stages the same? Music the same? Is there any reason to own both?

some parts in the missions r chg, and the bosses are flipped and secret paths in the missions are changed too.

Tons of things!

And its the little things that count, like the airplane in the backgroung taking off in the China stage.

They seem (well at least to me) like almost completely different games.

Keep in mind I got em both Nick, you're more than welcoe to play em if either of us gets the chance.

For me too.

It's more of a complete game to me. Slug2 really is a journey.

SlugX feels like a chaos.

In the end, both of them are great though.

Hmmm...

Consensus seems to be that they're different enough... but there isn't a group favorite. I'm sure this thread will cost me a good chunk of cash in the future - thanks a lot! :tickled:

from what i remember, MSX Vs. MS2....bosses are placed different, speed of the game is fixed, the first stage is at night on MSX, while MS2 is in the day time

Well, just get 'em on MVS unless you're collecting. That'll be a much smaller chunk, anyway.

IMO, the color pallette is a lot better in Metal Slug 2 over X. Some of the enemies you meet in X that weren't aronud 2 are kinda neat, but I gotta take 2 (if only it didn't have the slowdown)
