Every console version and emulator of a Metal Slug game I ever tried, PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, Mame all lag when there a sudden rush of enemy soldiers in the screen

That's why you play them on an AES, MVS, or NCD

When I said every console, I was implying the MVS, AES and NeoGeo CD as well, I should've stated that.
The Game Engine regardless of what's system it on will lag when were there a sudden rush of Enemy characters.
The Later Ports of the game only seem to preserve this

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it, but I think in AOF3, once you played the game on a certain character's birthday, you basically had an unlimited ability to use your super desperation moves. Neat idea. Very nice list.

I think that only applies to the MVS version. The MVS system features a real-time clock as part of the bookkeeping hardware. I don't know if NGCD has a feature like this. Still, very useful tip! Thanks!

If that's the case, I apologize. I swear I saw a video featuring this on a NGCD port. Regardless, there's always more to love about the Neo Geo. Keep that list strong!

Neo-Geo longest actively supported system....barely beating out the Atari 2600....even out-lasting the PS2! The dates being January 1990-August 2004

Most sources claim the Atari 2600 was supported from 1977 to 1992, which makes it 15 years. The PS2 hasn't been officially canned yet.

Also, for perspective, the CPS2 had similarly long support from Capcom, with new releases in the early 2000s.

Last official 2600 game was in 1990. Acid Drop in 1992 was unlicensed.

That depends on if you count the ROM version of Ironclad as an official release...
