I don`t know, but i remember talking with an other guy in another forum, he said that playing with japanese uni Bios the Neo Geo Logo appears, playing with Euro uni Bios the Neo Geo Logo was missing.:A::B::C::D:

Oh ya I remember I'm so sure to reply this, but I ever heard about this issue couple years ago.. it's adjustable if you found logo on japanese bios then not in the Eur bios, you can configure it, but I didn't pay attention how to do at that time, please CMIIW :smirk: :smirk:

Do you know...
(this one is gonna blow your mind)
If your game pcb is dirty as a pig, you can clean PCB's with WATER & DETERGENT!! Yes!! Water is NOT a pcb enemy as long as you carefully follow some basic directions:

(read it until end and if you're unsure, don't do it)
0.- Disconnect pcb from any power supply. IF YOUR PCB HAS ANY KIND OF BATTERY YOU MUST NEVER USE WATER. Forget this, and use your girlfriend's nail cleaner that contains acetone.
1.- Obviously, before doing anything you have to discharge completely any capacitor in the pcb!!! (you can short the cap legs, wait 1 minute and short again). Always use a tester to assure there's no (zero) current on your pcb. Be very careful with that: Water+Electricity=PCB DESTROYED.
2.- If your pcb has socketed IC's, remove them and take note in what orientation they are. I do that for proper cleaning of the sockets.
3.- NEVER use bleech or corroding detergent, use this rule: IF IT'S BAD FOR YOUR NAKED HANDS, IT IS BAD FOR YOUR PCB. For example you can use dishwasher liquid soup or soft cloth powder detergent.
4.- Use a soft toothbrush and use it gently, the detergent and the warm water will clean. Never use something that can scratch your pcb traces.
5.- After cleaning, use enough warm water and never let detergent in sockets, below chips or hidden places. Splash water specially below big chips.
6.- INMEDIATELY AFTER CLEANING, YOU HAVE TO CLEAN THE REMAINING WATER AND DRY THE PCB WITH A HAIRDRYER at maximum temp and medium distance (10 inches). Be careful, too much hot at the same area can break something, I suggest doing circles and spend 10 minutes or more drying it. The point is that you have to dry even the last hole-thru, even the last point below a chip. No single water drop can remain in the pcb, or you will have rust with time.
8.- Let the pcb dry itself until the next day and put again any socketed chips in place taking care of orientation.
9.- After that you will have a brilliant as-new pcb.

I done this 8 years ago with a MVS mv1 I bought buried in mud because of a flooding, and it came to life until today!!! 8 years of weekly use and zero rust.
As always, use your common sense. Treat the pcb as you would treat your kid.

Actually, if you remove the battery, you can run them through your dishwasher with no detergent...

Also works for laptop keyboards. It's the same process they use in factories.

Just make sure you take the batteries off.

I didn't know in the factory they have dishwashers!!! :lolz: :lolz:
Just kidding.

I know some people use ultrasonic cleaners. It works more or less like a Jacuzzi for pcb's ;) The pcb is sink in a small bath surrounded by ultrasonic emitters making small bubbles of air that clean even in under the smd chips.
I don't have one of these because of the price.
As I said before, it is very important to fast dry the pcb. If you fail to do so, you'll get rust or corrosion with the time.

Most of the arcades in UK have replaced classic games with Konami Dance games or fruit machines! It's hard to find a decent arcade these days unless you go to central London (Trocadero).

If it's in a 4 slot and you put it in slot one it shows it!
The 4 slot only shows it after all for slots or if it changes to Pro-Gear spec.

If it's in a single it should show it, as far as adjusting i have NEVER heard of it!

I can confirm this on my MV-1AX board. US region, US authentic Metal Slug 3 cart. No NEO-GEO boot screen.

Well, in the back of the manual for some dog tag carts, it says, "This product can only be used on the NEO GEO Rental System."

Perhaps because of the high price it was used mainly as a rental machine?
If so, I wonder where you could have went to rent one...

the rental system was available in japan only 1989 one year before the us debuted 1990

Yea, I was told by someone on the "inside" back in the day. In kinda explains the slowdown and small amount of memory the team was allotted. They were trying to impress SNK even with little memory to work with (henceforth the slowdown). You can defiantly see some Capcom in Last Resort.. I remember Last Resort was hard to get a hold of at one time. I remember I bought my copy from company called "Dragon Video", they were based in North Carolina. I wanted it so bad that I didn’t care that the case was in horrendous condition. This was in 1995.

Damn , I miss those days.
me too.. i was ordering must of my neo-geo and super famicom games from them the first time i know about them was in die hard game fan magazine back in 1993 they can mode your neo-geo to let you play uncensored version of samurai spirit . i remember the store is located in raliegh NC . i dont think any other videogame store are 100% specialists on the neo-geo like them. good time ^^

I live in Raleigh Now, I wish they were still around. I've felt very nostalgic lately for the feeling of playing in arcades. I've been to japan a handful of times and always make an effort to hang out in the game centers, I just wish they were easier to come by stateside.

Not sure if this is widely known or not, but Chinese people are REALLY into King of Fighters 97.

I went to Guangzhou for a month this summer, and all arcades have like 10 KOF97 machines (linked two-by-two for vs play).
KOF98 was also pretty common.

is it common knowledge that the song that plays in fatal fury 1 during player vs player matches is the song from the first stage of street smart? This was a neat and recent discovery to me.
