According to copyright date and NGH number, the "first" officially released Neo Geo title was NAM 1975 (NGH 001, 1990). The "last" officially released title was Samurai Shodown 5 Special (NGH 272, 2004).

Amongst titles released for the Neo Geo in the US, the average meg count for a game is 238 and here is a small listing of the most common meg counts:

1. 46 Megs: 8 titles(NAM 1975, Magician Lord, Ninja Combat, Soccer Brawl, Super Baseball 2020, Thrash Rally, Riding Hero, Eightman)
2. 708 Megs: 5 titles(Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug 5, Samurai Shodown V, Samurai Shodown V Special, SVC Chaos)
3. 55 Megs: 5 titles(Sengoku, King of the Monsters, Fatal Fury, Super Spy, Ghost Pilots)

I think in a sheer coincidence, there was a title that was released for the Neo Geo, mentioned in a movie prior to the game being released. What movie and what game?

I did not know that such a thing as "Neo-Print" Japanese cartridges existed until someone showed me a few in person.

Ha, yeah. I heard one the other day on a random game that actually had drum beats which seemed completely strange.

Even the CPS2 (1993 me thinks) couldn't handle more then 350+- Mbits. 716Megs is only possible via bank switching but possible.

If not posted: Neo has no tilemap generator all you see is sprites. Also Neo can access at any given time any part of the cart in realtime wirhout compression or delay. Great examples is the animation quality in Pulstar/Blazing Star or AOF3.

Would that be Double Dragon? I vaguely remember that movie and recall some sort of Neo tie-in.

I thought this was kinda neat. Magical Drop II has an additional game mode when played with a Japanese BIOS:

Not neo related, but fuck kern-I'll do as I please. 100,002 thing, you may not have known about the company that made the neo.

I never realised that the neo had so many jingles, usually it was just SNK and ADK that had the distinctive difference, do you have a list of the others?

I didn't see the right answer. I believe in Waynes World, one of the games listed in the Noah's Arcade commercial is Ninja Commando.

Always makes me smile :)
While the Megadrive and SNES were trumpeting "16 megs!" and "32 megs of pure POWAH!" on their boxes, the Neo was lurking in the background with carts that were literally 10x the size.
