I got this today...I would like to know what revision it is..Or what the hell does revision mean..lol...

Is this one going to be the harder one to set up in my cab?

What do I need to do again..to play this?

I'd like to test it out..Is there anyway to bench test this?

Is this all I need..?
Is there anything missing..?

(Note)..I put a piece of carboard on the botom so nothing hits the chips, and I have the board wrapped in plastic now.

Looks like a Rev2. Revision 1 had some extra wiring for power that was needed. Look underneath and see if there is an "MVS" setting switch. If so, it's definitely a Rev 2.

Why do you want Rev 2? It's 90% JAMMA (like the NEO), so it'll work in any JAMMA cab. If you have a Neo cab, you can flip the JAMMA/MVS setting switch and get stereo (if the cab is wired for it) and 100% compatibility.

To play it, just swap it into any JAMMA cab you have and fire it up. That should be all that's needed. If MVS will work in the cab, Hyper will work in the cab.

If you have a Super Gun, you can just plug it in and play (I don't recall you owning a Super Gun though).

As far as bench testing, if you test any JAMMA boards you can test this one the same way.

Also in MVS mode the TEST button layout is the same as MVS, so if you put it into an MVS cab, you're all set. Otherwise it's different, I just can't recall the pin numbers off the top of my head. I'm sure someone else can hook you up with that info if you need it.

You made an EXCELLENT decision, young grasshopper! I see Buriki One plugged in... one of the most fun HNG64 games available. Nothing beats Sam Spirit 64 IMO though.

For $40, it could be a Rev1 board. They require extra power wiring I believe. Not sure though.

Sorry to say...but that board you scanned is not a Rev 2 board.

There would be two sets of single red switches...the switches you speak of are the dipswitches...not the same at all.

Revision 2 boards have a lot of molex conectors above the jamma connector, thats the easiest way to spot them.

these additional wires are the 5volts and the stereo connector
the knob on the left is the volume knob
so i think you gonna have a prob to get it running
almost forgot to say it looks like a rev 1
the 2nd rev has a lot of connectors on the bottom of the lower pcb

Hmmm..
Looks like I'm going to have to ask for this piece to be sent to me with the second Hyper 64 board, just to get it running.
I'm not sure what Revision he's sending..

Lol..
When all is done I'll have two Rev 1's and 1 Rev 2...Crazy..

(note for old thread readers..(update)
I have been playing the Hyper 64 Rev 1 system by just plugging into the Jamma Harness in a Tekken 3 cab..(sweeeet!!)
It's been working fine, but I was told that I need to hook up the additional power supply connections that come on the outer plate with the molex connectors(volume knob) or the board will blow out.
(I'm in the process of tracking down that plate with the connectors)

Thats not so bad as the system itself only saves data for one game at a time, it takes time to unlock some charachters. ;)
