Well, I'm a bit rusty but after a few runs, using my modded Hori stick and playing the game on the Wii Virtual Console, I got a decent score of 185xxx.

I haven't played slug 1 for ages, level 6 (yes 6, stuart campbell) pissed me off too much and I never went back, moved on to slug 2 for now but level 4/5 piss me off too much on that. \\o

Got lazy though

I didn't play slug for at least 5 years!

I just started again yesterday

by the way ...sorry if i managed to get the screen as soon as it fade to black

i m going to play some more today and beat that

and grab a good screen

I found other 1.200 pts. I think that max score possible (theoretical) is near 290.000.

This isn't a real play, only theoretical (with save & load) to understand the max score theoretical possible with all best pattern known.

can't believe I never read this thread before as slug1 is my favorite non fighter on the neogeo and I've been playing the shit out of it recently.

the images from the beginning of the thread explaining this cannon trick are long gone, could someone elaborate or post a pic to explain? I don't quite understand the concept.

EDIT: well I sorta have the idea, seems if you hit a enemy with the very edge of the explosions hitbox it will work, but a little confirmation of exactly what factors in would help still.
