If you all recall last month Playmore raided numerous companies that were selling bootlegs or were infringing copyright and a "The Warlocks of the Fates Prototype" is found. All I want to know is do prototypes usually function with commercial hardware or do you need developing kits to play them. In other words would I be able to use the Warlocks of the Fates Prototype on an AES or would I need a development kit. Judging from this picture the games seems pretty complete and playable.

<img src="http://www.neo-geo.com/snk/screenshots/wof2.jpg" alt=" - " />.

The bright colors and character design remind me a lot of Capcom's Vampire series. Who currently has possession of this prototype? Were the owners able to play said prototype?

On the DHP awhile ago Dion said that the game played really well and had lot's of coll backgrounds and super moves. The game is the same amount of megs as Samurai Shodown 2 (202 megs). It was supposed to come out in early 1995. I would like to get it but it would be too expensive for me. frown

Serious question, no flames please.

Mak, how much would it have been to buy WOTF from NGF?

I have asked Dion that same question many times in hope that he would sell me a prototype game. So far the only luck that I have had was being offered Digger Man. The other prototype games offered only go to the Super Freak status. In order to be a Super Freak you must own all of the NGF conversions. That is dozens of games. Some of them go for $900 each and that is way over my head.

I was hoping that if I became a Big Tymer I would be able to get the prototype games but no go. That is my only real problem with NGF is the fact that they have a too high of requirement for those who they sell prototype games to. There are only 17 people on this planet who have this ranking and only a few of them own this game.

A Crossed Swords 2 and Warlocks of the Fates was sold to a collector at the CGE show last year and I have a picture of the guy holding the games. I could send it to you if you like. You would have to be very rich to get the games though. I do not know the exact price but I have heard that they go for over $1,000 dollars cash.

Dion and Chris have been known to sell a few protos at the CGE show like Diggerman and Irratating Maze: Joystick edition but so far they haven't offered the really rare ones to anyone but the 17 that I have mentioned.

You would need buy about $50,000 worth of games to get that ranking and that is something I will never be able to do unless they choose to sell the games to other people that don't have the Super Freak ranking. It is too bad really because I am sure that many people would be interested in buying these games. I know I would. I have asked Dion if he would think about selling them for the next CGE show in Las Vegas. He offered a proto power pack last year and I hope that he decides to offer Warlocks of the Fates this year. But that probably won't happen. You would have to ask Dion or Chris about it but they will probably tell you the exact same thing that they told me. I hope that answers your question.

Yeah, it does, thanks Mak.

Wow, $50,000 worth of games just to get your hands on a WOTF.

NGF wasn't the only one who had it for sale. Worldwide, the other company raided had it for sale as well... and you didn't need to buy tons of games to get it  Which leads me to believe there is probably quite a few "copies" of this game floating around... Not sure where you could get it, but it is available,

To spend $50,000 just to get a shot at a prototype Neo game is insane. Just like the NGF and their idiotic cult that continues to support them.

What was the other company that had this game for sale? I am curious to see how much they are charging for it. Maybe I can email them and ask them what they charge for their prototype games.

Worldwide, like I said, the other company raided... their price list (minus the prices) is in the seizure document.

As for where you can buy it now... as said... I don't know, but I doubt these were the only two companies that "had" the game. :o

why are you always flaming Makismo? this has been a serious (and imo interesting) thread, he answered the question in a very objective way and there isn't the slightest bit of pro ngf propaganda.

grow the fuck up.

Hehe I hope Supergoose knows who that is being German. Anyway, that's fairly hilarious that he's earned the "worthy" status of being compared to Goebbles. Although I did think he answered the question in an honest way, although the rambling about even considering being a "Big Tymer" or his sadness of not having the case to be a "SuperFreak" is humorous. Conclusion: I think he's worthy of flaming when he's said something either pro-NGF which has no foundation, or when he's being outright stupid, and from what I've seen the only time the second is true is when it's from the first. I've yet to see him make any truly ludicrous comments that do not regard NGF.

Would you flame Joseph Goebbels?
yes, i would.

seriously :
- he answered the question.
- his answers were NOT offensive.
- he didn't offer ngf stuff.
- he didn't even say that buying ngf shit is worth it.

so, what exactly is your problem?

Why there are pics of the boxes but no actual pics of the game itself?

They were pictures of game boxes with a guy holding them in his hands. If you give me your email address I can send them to you. I will probably be gone for the rest of the day but send me a PM with your email address and I will send the picture to you. If you have web space you could post them here. :)

Billy Pitt is the owner of the site, but he ripped off most of those pics from my old site. I scanned them from a Neo Geo Freak mag, I believe one of the NGF mags had the movelists or character info in it. :)

Yeah, I have to agree with supergoose79. He did answer our question, and he did do it without pushing NGF.

I'm interested in Alkanan's question. Has anyone gotten to play it? If Worldwide was selling it (was that an MVS or convereted homecart) there is a chance that someone on this BBS has bought it or at least played it.

One of the reasons why it might have remained a prototype is because it didn't live up to the designers' expectations.

Sometimes bands will not release a song that they recorded; it disappoints them and they would be embarrassed if it got out.

The fans don't necessarily realize this, they just think it's an unreleased gem.

If it was a fully functional and well designed game, it would have more than likely been released.

Nice point. I agree.
