interested in sprite rips using MAME

okay i downloaded good ol mame32 for windows 9x (currently running 98 at home). so right now im downloading a game that i want to rip sprites of. where do i go from there. im really really new at this stuff.

sorry I can't help you there. It's not as easy as ripping NeoGeo and CPS 1 and CPS2

Uh.. Tora, MAME plays CPS1-2, NeoGeo and just about all 2D based arcade hardware from the past 25 years.

MAME doesnt have layer disablers like Kawaks or NeoRageX. But if your ripping sprites from old games (eg. Pacman) they mostly on a solid color background and arent that difficult to do.

If your doing CPS1,2, or Neo, use Kawaks or NeoGeo or Nebula.
